Pacific is (or was) a baseball card company, licensed (or once licensed) by MLB to sell baseball cards. "Amigos" was a subset of one of Pacific's 1993 sets. Back then, there were dozens of baseball sets produced each year. That's "dozens", with an "s" at the end.

And the majority of those sets were small, sometimes as small as half a dozen or so cards. The most popular superstars whose baseball careers aligned perfectly with those times --- like Mike Piazza and Derek Jeter -- they have over a thousand cards of themselves. You'd be hard pressed to find any baseball card of the set-up man or the third reliever on the depth chart but Derek Jeter, he'd appear on 50 or more cards a year in those days.

What a damn shame. When I have the exclusive license to print these things, the cards will be printed in a maddeningly perfect proportion. If a guy never hits the 2[CROSSOUT]5[/CROSSOUT]6-man roster, he never sees a card released. If Adonis Medina gets demoted, even for a day, his card falls out of production for that day, and returns to production when he rejoins the roster. This may initially make the factory floor a very stressful place to be, but in the end, all will celebrate the accurate representation of who is and isn't a major league player.

Rohr didn't know it at the time, but on the day he was traded to Milwaukee, he had already played his last major league baseball game.
