When healthy, Nimmo/Marte/Lindor/Alonso have pretty much been written in stone at the top of the lineup.

I do not get why runners on 2nd (like Canha just now) don't try to draw a throw from RF on a deep fly out to Right.

You don't want to make the last out at third. You can score on a single from

second base (which is what I think happened) and you can't score from third

on a fly out like when there's less that two outs?

I'm not saying to tag, I'm saying to draw a throw. No risk, high payoff if the rushed throw goes wild. Take four running steps to 3B, and see what happens. Standard fundamental of Little Leaguers everywhere.

Well, sure, but I'm seeing that as part of the into-Atlanta process — mainly by getting deGrom deployed and working before Atlanta. Good chance that May and McCann return for the Washington series also.

That's an exceptional arm in RF, fake too well and you might find yourself back-picked.

Canha was tagged but took mo more than an obligatory step as it was obvious he wasn't going anywhere.

I wasn't speaking critically of Canha just now as much wondering why the routine fake-out attempt is not employed routinely. Used to be, you did it every time, drew a bad throw 1 time in 100, got a fumbled catch by the RFer rushing his throw 1 time in 200, got nabbed at 2B 1 time in 1000. Now they just never run in that spot.

Nothing spectacular yet, but Naquin has looked quite smooth in both corner spots so far and has played plenty of CF in his time. With Jankowski gone, he's probably Nimmo's backup at this point.

Watched first few innings on the Marlins feed, all I could find for back-of-the-truck streams today. Their announcers suck a big fat peninsula.
