IGT 8/2 The return of Jake deGrom may it be a healthy one

It has been over a year. I've heard the pitch count is about 75. Jake misses Soto and Bell Looking for a 27 pitch complete game. Again, this one looks too easy.

IIRC a pitcher named John Cristenson(SP?) came off the IL (it was the DL in those days), shut out the Mets and went back on the DL. I think it was for one of the Pennsylvania teams. I've tried to suppress the memory.

I had to go look up Abbott. Turns 27 next month but is still a rookie (might still be next year as well)2nd round pick by Cubs in 2017 from Loyola Marymount University Waiver pick up from the Cubs org last winter. 7 games last season, 1 start This will be his 4th appearance and 1st start this year.

The Nats and Orioles are my blacked out markets. So even with deGrom's return being the MLB.com Free Game of the Day, I can't see it since I'm still blacked out.

First game I've seen on my laptop, tonight. Tell you the truth, I deliberately didn't subscribe to MLB.TV because I didn't want the temptation to sit in front of the TV every night, just catch the Marlins (and Rays, if there was an opponent I was interested in) plus ESPN games and the like. But this is a cool bonus, what with deGrom going and all.

So we stop the game for a mound conference, then one pitch later stop it again for a pitching change. So that'll be about 4 to 5 minutes where ONE pitch is thrown. It's a shame they can't find any dead time to cut.

So this game has gotten out of hand, but when Meneses hit his homer and they were focusing on the guy trading the baseball, we got an excellent shot of Lefty Jr in the stands on TV. Froze it and texted him the picture and he lol'd. He's been getting strafed out there in the lower rightfield stands.

I'm trying to trust Buckles, but I don't get this binary choice between using top relievers and using the dudes just off the bus. Not only are there plenty of ways to go in between, why go for the latter in a game tied after five? Trevor Williams, for instance.
