Heat Wave by Martha & the Vandellas would be lyric appropriate, today. Off the top of my head, I'd go with Ball and Chain or Summertime by Janis and Big Brother. Or if I wanted to be stylistically apart from my teammates, Summertime, the version on Porgy and Bess by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. But I don't know of any major leaguers my age.

btw, it's a good thing the rules allowed the Reds pitching coach to stop the game in order to go out and talk to his pitcher prior to his THIRD batter of the game or else this game might have really gotten away from Cincy.

He and his brother had their family up from Puerto Rico for the whole series and neither one appeared in any of the three games.

We saw one of his relatives posing for photos in front of the Tom Seaver statue before the game. Those split Mets/Reds jerseys were easy to spot.
