Riveting stuff. Who'd play center field after Vogelbach, (who, sez you, is the 7th centerfielder) and the top six centerfielders all go down simultaneously? What do you think's gonna happen? That Godzilla might destroy the Mets post-game airplane flight with his fire-breathing fire breath?

Re: Mets depth chart

I dunno, Edgy. But I'll ask Brian Ostrosser tonight when he comes over for dinner. But why stop at seven or eight? I'll ask Ostrosser who he thinks the Mets 23rd centerfielder should be on their depth chart. Because if Godzilla attacks once, he could just as easily attack again. Ostrosser being Ostrosser, though, he might recommend Dave Schneck or Rich Chiles. Ever heard of Rich Chiles?

You weren't. But unless you want my every thread messed up with such idiocy, may I suggest sending his nonsensical threadshitting attempts to the Red Light Forum where they belong? All he "contributes" to threads I start is this sort of thing, which I've been ignoring and intend to ignore.

Gimme a break. Your posts are nonsensical and attention-seeking. They're contrived and I have a right to respond. If you don't like it, don't post. Who's the eighth centerfielder on the depth chart? Long-winded pedantic posts about how you've figured out that you might be able to predict the future performance of baseball players by studying their past performances. You should hurry up and do your research before someone steals your brilliant ideas. Five paragraphs to explain that a runner tagged while not in contact with a base should be called out? What other option is there? Nobody's ever heard of Brian Ostrosser other than, maybe, one poster?

And when I write something that's red-lightable, there'll be no doubt and you'll know. You started this by brutalizing me without any provocation. I was actually nice to you unless you think that disagreeing with you over an infield lfly rule idea is rude. And then you had the added audacity to ask me, ME, for an apology. And a lunatic three paragraph unhinged rant over a typo, which you insisted was a spelling error? If you ever talked to anybody like that in real life, they'd never, ever forget it. And then you threatened, more than once, to put your "boot up my ass" whenever you felt like it? All unprovoked. Nobody here ever talks to other posters like that. Nobody ever invokes the threat of physical violence, not even as a joke, no matter how nasty the underlying flame war is, but that's a boundary you also broke and got away with without a reprimand. Because reprimands are only for some posters.

We were WAY more friendly to each other when the team was scuffling. We've scared away so many long time members. It's really sad.

It's not the team. It's that piece of shit monster that this stupid country put in the White House a few years ago.

swathes of people stood up in favor of spreading disease, concentration camps, hate, and state murder, and against democracy, and other people decided that it wasn't worth being civil to those people anymore.

specifically on the baseball front, I think there are similar swathes of people that still think the game was better in 1980, and seem to get offended when the modern game/fan prefers something a little more 21st century. Not specifically anyone here necessarily, but in general the "Waah waah, ban the shift and stop striking out!" nonsense can be grating.

So you use Trump to justify mistreating people in the Crane Pool Forum?

I get a sense Guillorme is a backup for just about every position. He could probably do a passable job in an outfield corner in an emergency.

I'm also cool with all of us chilling the fuck out and regaining some sense of perspective in our lives and online interactions.

People who disagree with you are not necessarily your enemy. Nor are people who merely annoy you.

are you talking to me? I don't mistreat anyone, I Just don't take shit from people that attack the way I post, or defend assholes and broken systems by nitpicking the way I present the data or point. So when people stand up and say "actually gassing migrants is good" for example, a think TFG has done and had defended by his cult, I'm not gonna be like "well, difference of opinion, still gonna be respectful and nice to that garbage opinion". I'm not a corporate democrat after all.

These last ditch "omg the roster is broken and we need someone there!" isn't actually that particularly interesting in most cases. You just take some mostly expendable guy and stick him there and say good luck. I wouldn't be surprised if the Mets would stick like, Yoan López in the outfield before like many more valuable bench guys.

Re: Mets depth chart

Back to our topic, vital as this political stuff is:

at what point does Buck start thinking of his emergency catcher? You'd suppose that at some point prior to finalizing his roster, he asks for volunteers, but it's possible that he decides on his roster first and then looks around for his least worst choice.

Does anyone remember when Shawon Dunston announced to the press that he wouldn't step in at shortstop if he was needed? This was when Ordonez was playing, and Bobby V. needed to bluff that he could use Dunston at short but Shawon wouldn't play along. The weird thing was that the next year, Shawon filled in at shortstop for another team. I never understood what was really going on there.

You are justifying bad behavior with straw man arguments about concentration camps and gassing migrants, then following up with hypothetical attacks on people for things they didn't say. Maybe the better question is why are you posting about ICE in a Mets forum? Don't you have, like, two blogs and two podcasts where you can spread that stuff?

All Ceetars are criminal pigs. Can we move this to the red light forum?

this forum would benefit greatly from a "baseball is the only thing allowed in the baseball forum" rule. The moderators felt the need to single out Fantasy Baseball for its own separate forum years ago so as not to pollute the main forum, but all kinds of political horse manure, attacks on entire groups of people, and personal attacks are allowed.

I was about to post "i HATE the "threads of endless pictures" that are annoying to scroll through on a phone. I don't even like the pictures in Edgy's roster thread."

But now that the thread has been spliced to the RLF, I'll add "and F you!, and you!, and you too!"

I would love to see the current 25 and 40 man rosters plus DL in a compact format in the first post edited all year, with all the changes you do now in subsequent posts where I dont scroll down on my phone.

But its your thread
