Cole Irvin, 28, former 5th round pick of the Phils in 2016 out of U-Oregon (He's a DUCK!!) Full time starter last two years. Low K-rate for this era, but also low BBs, low H/9, good WHIP (1.1) league avg ERA Never heard of him prior to this moment.

Nimmo is fine but I'd still rest him, and McNeil, on Friday, if possible. The Mets might see 3 LHPs this series. Nice to see that Oakland has Stephen Vogt back (I don't recognize any other names in that lineup). I mean, yeah, he's 37 y/o and isn't hitting worth a damn, but he was very popular there during his first go-around on the East Bay.

Sean Murphy, the OAK C, can hit. Gary said that the Mets haven't been to OAK in 8 years... and they will be there in the last full month of this regular season and again in the first full month of the next regular season.
