Joely Rodriguez' last three appearances = sweet domination.

 September 12, vs CHC: 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 2 SO

 September 15, vs PIT: 2.0 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 2 SO

 September 18, vs PIT: 2.0 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 5 SO

Three appearances ain't a season, but I like'm those trend lines.

Re: Joely Beans

He needs it, too, because in the first half he sucked more ass than Paul Lynde.

Re: Joely Beans

It's a good time to be doing well given the upcoming roster crunch with Scherzer, Megill, and Smith all coming back.

I still think Joely should be real concerned about his spot, though.

Re: Joely Beans

Let 'em all be concerned, but six up and six down with five K's is an impression.

Re: Joely Beans

Certainly. The Mets have a real roster crunch coming though. They're limited to 14 pitchers:

5 starters: deGrom, Scherzer, Bassitt, Carrasco, Walker

3 relievers with guaranteed spots: Diaz, Ottavino, Lugo

That leaves 8 guys for 6 spots:

Peterson

Megill

May

Smith

Williams

Givens

Rodriguez

Hunter

For purposes of this analysis, we'll assume Nogosek and Claudio aren't really in the running.

Re: Joely Beans

There are two ways to look at his recent performance:

He's getting hot at the right moment, or

A blind dog hits an occasional fire hydrant.

I'm still not sure which it is, but I hope he can keep it going.

Six up and six down with five strikeouts in the major leagues isn't luck.

Three up, three down, and currently the pitcher of record on the winning side this evening?

Joely Beans.

Not bad for a guy being called a waste of DNA just recently.
