With the Phillies clinching a playoff berth, 2022 marks the first postseason with three entrants from the National League East, an occurrence possible since 2012, but not achieved until implementation of this new format.

I think I'm finally processing the disappointment from this weekend. All last week was frustrating, and it culminated with a soul-crushing sweep at the hands of our worst enemy. But we still host a playoff series starting Friday, and we have a legitimate World Series contender. Welcome to the Cohen era folks.

this isn't the cheating, but I did see one or two tweet videos of like Acuna on second flashing signs or something.

This is also only the fifth time the NL East has produced as many as three teams with at least 87 wins in the same season — and the first time in a long time.

I mean, that differential is too distinct for something that might not even add value (And might not have for the Astros either) It's clearly something more like they're pumping toxic gas into the visitor's clubhouse.

Maybe they don't care. The flag still flies in Houston. No players were punished. They all got their money in free agency. The manager was suspended one year and has been back in baseball since.

On a serious note, and I know there are more devoted Mets fans (ca. 2022) than I, but I've been feeling majorly down since the weekend, and my chief consolation in grim times before has been to think about baseball. This time it doesn't work. It makes it worse, in fact. It's sort of nightmarish, actually. Thinking about baseball only makes things much much worse.
