Astros jerseys don't look awful but really weak given their legacy of uniform uniqueness.

Is that our Rafael Montero? We need to get out guys to grow fresh dreads instead of releasing them

NYY's leading playoff HR hitter ... Judge? ... Stanton? ... Rizzo?

Nope, it's Harrison Bader.

Bader, who hit 5 in 246 ABs for StL then none in 46 ABs after the deadline trade and IL-delayed debut for the Yanx in the regular season,

hit 4 in his first 16 ABs vs Cleveland and now Houston. It's Matt Carpenter all over again except that Bader can actually play the OF.

Yeah I am an Astros fan only based on them being less detestable than the Astros or Yankees (and their fans and the shitbags who wear MFY hats and don't even like baseball just because they're the MFYs and the douchenozzles who wear MFY jerseys with last names on the back like that's even a fucking thing oh no I think I just triggered myself)

As a kid, the Astros were always my second least favorite team. I knew as a lad that the expansion Mets weren't supposed to be good but it always pissed me off that they were always behind the other team which wasn't supposed to be good either.

This week they just happen to be playing my all time least favorite team.

Pinhead Astros take a 3-run lead in botom 3 then follow that up with a sloppy frame to give 2 of those runs right back.

If you're a NYY manager or write about the NYYs it's perfectly fine to cite the roof being open as the reason why the NYYs lost but forget it if the Mets ever made an excuse like that one.

Was it only blowing in one half of the innings, and which half?

Did the wind hurt their offense or defense or both and, if so, why didn't it affect Houston?

The roof, btw, is a call made by MLB in post-season so I hope they're not going to try and paint this as another garbage can issue.

Finally caught up to real time in this here Game #3.

Houston winning game 2 was huge I thought as they otherwise would have gone to YSIII not just tied at 1 - 1 but also having to face Cole then Cortes on the road.

But not only did they win #2 but also hung 5 on Cole and got him out in the 5th.

Still 5 - 0 'stros and they've got 2 on and [CROSSOUT]none[/CROSSOUT] one out, top 9

The bottom of the 8th featured some Miguel Castro action. He didn't have a great season and spent a chunk of the second half on the IL then wasn't active for the earlier round, but pitched a scoreless frame tonight.

Yanx need at least five or they're looking at a 3 - Zip deficit.

Truth is, after the Astros finished off their ALCS sweep in The Bronx on a rain-delayed Sunday night, making it 13 straight years that the Yankees have failed to reach the World Series, Steinbrenner deserves to be fired. He is lucky that there isn't anyone in position to call him into the office and deliver the grim news.

The same paying customers who booed Steinbrenner at ceremonies honoring Paul O'Neill and Derek Jeter are sick and tired of the Yankees saying they willingly signed up to be judged in October, only to repeatedly fail in October.

I would have booed O'Neil and Jeter, too.

This is why baseball playoffs are unwatchable as far as I'm concerned. Young Steinbrenner is essentially complaining that his Yankees aren't winning enough coin flips and behaving as if he's entitled to win coin flips. That's really what this all comes down to. Instead, he should be thanking his lucky stars that some 20 years ago, the Yankees were able to win three straight World Series titles. It was an incredible run of luck to be able to pull that off with expanded playoffs. I'm positive that with the current playoff format, the odds of a three-peat are so astonomically miniscule, no matter how great or dominant some team becomes - that I won't see a baseball three-peat under this format even if I live to be 250.

on the subject of Jeter/O'Neil...I don't know which bothers me the most:

The Yankees retiring O'Neil's number;

Jeter winning gold gloves;

Jeter thinking that he should have been a unanimous first ballot HOFer...Jeter's stats are solid, don't get me wrong but...IMO, he add Ringo Starr are 2 of the luckiest people in their professions...Put Jeter at another defensive position, and on a different team all his career, and is he still a 1st ballot HOFer or Gold Glove winner?

And now we'll be inundated with articles speculating whether Judge will re-sign with the MFYs.

And almost the same number of articles saying the Mets should sign him.

At least it keeps the reporters in a job producing a diarrhea of words and a constipation of ideas.

Mets starting pitchers (without a lot of deGrom's contributions) had the 2nd best NL ERA in 2022.

Mets starting pitchers were tied for 2nd in the NL for "Wins" with 70 wins.

Mets overall had the 5th best NL Slugging Percentage in 2022.

Mets had the 8th best NL slugging percentage vs LHP in 2022;
