TransMonk
May 01 2006 07:31 PM

A 7-pitch 2nd for Zambrano as the Nats go down 1-2-3.

0-0 through 1 1/2.

OlerudOwned
May 01 2006 07:37 PM

What gives? I figured there'd be 10 runs up by now.

OlerudOwned
May 01 2006 07:47 PM

Nady is the first Met to reach base, with a leadoff double to center.

Gwreck
May 01 2006 07:52 PM

Big opportunity as we get past Zambrano (HBP) without an out. C'mon Jose.

Johnny Dickshot
May 01 2006 07:52 PM

Zambrano hit by the pitch: That's the defense's best defense against a squeeze play, executed too well.

Johnny Dickshot
May 01 2006 07:56 PM

Dagnabbit, wasting a leadoff double eats ass.

Edgy DC
May 01 2006 08:35 PM

I'm blacked out. Warrior is angry.

The Big O

Jose dubblez. Jose like tripplez.

Jose is out.

Edgy DC
May 01 2006 08:39 PM

Lo Duca dubblez.

Jose feelz much shame.

TransMonk
May 01 2006 08:40 PM

Reyes costs a run with his feet.

LoDuca on 2nd with 2 outs.

1-0 Nats bottom 5.

Soriano should back up.

ScarletKnight41
May 01 2006 08:50 PM

Carlos Delgado says -

and ties the game 1-1 in the 6th.

Edgy DC
May 01 2006 08:50 PM

Carlos Delgado says "Shift this!"

And eats a bowl of clown-loved cereal.

TransMonk
May 01 2006 08:51 PM

Carlos [Delgado] goes KABOOM!!!

1-1 bottom 6

Little late with that nutritous breakfast.

Johnny Dickshot
May 01 2006 08:53 PM

Up to Kazoo here to clear the pitcher. Hassn't had a strong homecoming with the stick yet.

Johnny Dickshot
May 01 2006 08:54 PM

Nice rip, Kazoo.

Jose Valentin, save your job.

Edgy DC
May 01 2006 08:55 PM

Somebody please tell me those suckazz are giving him the standing O-ball that he deserves.

Edgy DC
May 01 2006 08:58 PM

Victor Zambrano is out after 90 pitches. His ERA is own from 9.64 to 7.20.

Valentin can give him a chance to win.

Johnny Dickshot
May 01 2006 08:59 PM

Nuts. Valentin hit it hard, but right at Guillen.

We let Ortiz off easy. One more inning and we'll start murdering him

OlerudOwned
May 01 2006 08:59 PM

Poo.

Johnny Dickshot
May 01 2006 09:01 PM

Pete Goodyear in. Victor has little to be ashamed of but won;t get a win.

Willets Point
May 01 2006 09:02 PM

Gary says that Zambrano earned a lot of points tonight. Do you think he means Schaefer points?

Edgy DC
May 01 2006 09:04 PM

The vastly entertaining Washington bullpen awaits.

Aggh! A monster.

Nymr83
May 01 2006 09:06 PM

so much for impartial anouncers, this just in from McCarthy on WFAN:
"Jackson has really struggled lately for the Nationals, lets hope the struggles continue..."

Johnny Dickshot
May 01 2006 09:08 PM

Livan Hernandez in the game... to Pinch hit.

Nymr83
May 01 2006 09:08 PM

Livan Hernandez will pinch hit, i guess with nobody on they don't want to burn a real hitter?

Johnny Dickshot
May 01 2006 09:10 PM

Ithink the main thought was that there were 2 outs

Willets Point
May 01 2006 09:18 PM

Here's the guy the Scarlett hated having sex with.

Nymr83
May 01 2006 09:19 PM

i sortof have to question using 2 guys to get through an inning in a tie game, that could bite the nationals if we go extras (which is ok with me of course)

TransMonk
May 01 2006 09:25 PM

GAWD, Sanchez is good.

Edgy DC

Cliff, singles and doubles are cool too.

Willets Point
May 01 2006 09:34 PM

Edgy DC

Good move to bring in Majewski. Nady v. Stanton was looking sweet.

Burn that bullpen. Burn it.

"Trouble of late" sounds good.

Nymr83
May 01 2006 09:37 PM

we're through 8 and nothing doing... julio franco will go kaboom for the pitcher in the 9th.

Nymr83
May 01 2006 09:40 PM

bad move by Willie not double-switching to have Wagner available for a 2nd inning.

Edgy DC
May 01 2006 09:41 PM

Wagner: Three pitches agus three strikes to Nick the Stick. G'night.

Willets Point
May 01 2006 09:42 PM

A Bugs Bunny whiff by Guillen. Hee hee.

Edgy DC
May 01 2006 09:42 PM

Jose Guillen. One-two-three strikesy'erout!

Edgy DC
May 01 2006 09:44 PM

Brian Schneider has enough heart to put it in play. All the way back to the pitcher. Heckuvan efficient workday for Wags. Let's get him out while he's still fresh and get him a win.

Johnny Dickshot
May 01 2006 09:45 PM

Give us a sayonara kaboom, Kaz.

Nymr83
May 01 2006 09:45 PM

He's out anyway, due up 2nd in the inning. I think you MUST double switch in Chavez/Diaz for Nady (who made the last out) there but its too late now.

Edgy DC
May 01 2006 09:46 PM

By the way, it's not good that Washington is batting Schneider sixth.

Edgy DC
May 01 2006 09:47 PM

Do it again, Julio.

Rockin' Doc

Nymr83

May 01 2006 09:52 PM

How about that?

Rockin' Doc
May 01 2006 09:52 PM

Lots of speed on the bases for the Mets after Reyes singles. A gapper could be two runs.

Nymr83
May 01 2006 09:52 PM

LMAO, a gift-wrapped double play ball and he throws it into center field!

its good to be lucky.

Nymr83

Nymr83 - "unless the ball goes over the fence the game will end instantly o the first runn"

Damn, I had a brain freeze in the heat of battle. Somehow I kept thinking that Washington had another at bat.

Glad the Mets won. We'll take the wins anyway we can get them.

Johnny Dickshot

Matsui whiffs swinging
Franco walks on 5 pitches
--Chavez runs for Franco
Reyes battles back from 0-2, singles to left, Chavez to 2nd
LoDuca hard shit back to Majewski, tailor made DP but his throw spilts the uprights of Vidro & Clayton and goes to CF, Chavez scores w/o a throw

Rockin' Doc
May 01 2006 10:08 PM

GYC - "Can someone re-cap the bottom of the 9th?..."

Matsui struck out swinging.

Julio Franco walked. Endy Chavez comes on to run for Franco.

Jose Reyes singles to left field. Chavez advances to second.

Paul LoDuca grounds into a fielder's choice to the pitcher. Chavez scored when the pitcher threw the ball into center field trying for a double play.

Mets Win!!

You know, there are going to be a lot of people clamouring for seats on the bandwagon pretty soon. We can't have that sort of behavior.

Johnny Dickshot

I'm pretty sure I won that race, plus I'm the only one who mispelled "shot" as "shit" and didn't bother to change it.

Yeah, especially since I missed Friday night's entire game except the 9th... but I think that if you miss a Mets game to go to a low-A ball Mets game on a windy 55 degree night, you should be excused. (Fernando Martinez is awesome. He gave me a thumbs up when I called his name in pre-game warmups.)

Frayed Knot
May 01 2006 10:21 PM

The non double-switching for Wagner didn't suprise me so much as that he didn't go with Sanchez for a 2nd inning - especially since his one inning was pretty quick & clean and that you knew the end of the order would be coming up the following inning.

I guess Willie was going w/the tactic of trying to use relievers more often for shorter stints, keeping Duaner & Wags available for the future games (no days off this week) w/o having to sit them due to a long outing.
Bobby V used to work that way often also.

Edgy, this made me laugh and laugh and laugh . . .

Good form. And great IGT everyone! A fine way to get caught up.

I'm glad Zambrano pitched well. I really think he can be an average pitcher. And I mean that in the positive, average-has-significant-value way.
