I remember Al Moran hit under .200 and never changed his stance. Frustrating to watch. McCann was painful to watch - like seeing an animal caught in a trap. Later

Turns out that removing McC's contract will actually save the Mets more in lux tax money than the chunk that they're giving to the O's -- acc to DiComo on MLB.com Also, since we're apparently no longer announcing trades but go instead straight to the 'Memories of' thread, I had to look up what we're getting in return from Bal'mer ... turns out to be a PtbNL. Could turn out to be our next superstar

Being as high over the limit that they are, I found that hard to believe (understand) when I heard someone echo that on the radio. Show us the math NOW, Anthony!!

Mets are paying a 90% tax on payroll amounts above $293M. Eliminating $12M from what counts towards the tax limit (McCann's contract) means that there is $10.8M in CBT tax savings. So, when the Mets traded him, even if they are still responsible for $9.5M each of the next two years, it's less than the CBT tax they've avoided.
