I do it every year with the Washington Post, ping-ponging with Lefty Jr. I'm guessing Jeff Bezos can afford it.

Re: The Athletic Sale

Last year's $1 for the year ran out end of Nov , I have to say I enjoyed having it, extensive ELP and MLB coverage. I'll see if I can use another email

Re: The Athletic Sale

Well well , I downloaded the app , didn't see that offer, saw one for $21.95 for the year under work email. Then I went to the website and it said resubscribe for $1 a month (under just deleted account) , so I did. Thanks Kase

Re: The Athletic Sale

btw, the NYT now owns the Athletic and I've seen offers of discounted subscription prices if you order both.

Might be worth looking into if you're thinking of signing up for either.

Re: The Athletic Sale

Yeah, I saw it's now NYT the other day.

My NYT subscription can't get much lower. I've squeezed it to where

they'll have to pay me for a few months next year.

(exaggerating, of course)

I thought this was going to be about the Oakland A's going on the market.

I thought it was going to be about the BoSox selling a tall, thin lefty.

One day, phbBB will allow italics and bold in the 'Subject' field.

I was a subscriber. But after the sale to the Times I thought the quality and the quantity of Mets stories dropped significantly and I canceled.

You didn't want a paper trail to you supporting the 'failing NYT.' lol

I expect it in this order.

1. The US returns to the moon.

2. Self-driving automobiles.

3. Led Zeppelin reunion tour.

4. Italics in phpbb's subject field.

5. Parallel lines intersect.

Is it the new beat writer? Will Salmon seemed to stealthily take over some time this summer with no official word that the old guy was leaving

edit - he - Tim Britton - hasn't left, but he writes a lot less now and and often as co-author to Salmon

I like Britton and still listen to the podcast. I just wasn't seeing stories that were telling me anything different than I was seeing in other places, and didn't think it was worth paying for.
