Although he did indicate during a dugout interview last week that he may look to be more aggressive with SB attempts this season (although I confess I forget how strongly he worded it as I was busy gazing at whats-her-name's boobies at the time).

Yeah, I was expecting as much. Just now, he has whatever lingering effects there are from this ... bone bruise? ... to proffer in response to any inquiries anyone might make going forward. And if that's the way he's going to slide, it's probably just as well.

For a guy who's a good athlete, he can look more than a bit ungraceful at times. Not Hunter Pence level ungraceful, but not exactly Barishnikov either.

There's a difference between 'hurt' and 'injured', and it's important to distinguish between the two.

Certainly. But a guy can easily hurt himself jumping up and down but injure himself? (Another fellow we know) I'm just perplexed how they are so delicate. They are human, yes, and human bodies are easily injured but a trained athlete? Though I'll admit I don't know what happened with nimmo so I probably really shouldn't be commenting

Again, though, I'm not sure that Diaz hurt himself jumping up and down. It was the jumping that made it clear that he was hurt, but he looked off before that to me.

I once threw my back out picking up something to put in the trash. Now granted I meet nobody's standard of "proper shape," but it wasn't so much the mundane act as it was the accumulation of stresses that needed one more tiny trigger. I think a lot of athletic injuries (probably more so to pitchers than any other type of pro athlete) fall in the category where it's not one impact or event, but a buildup of stresses that just goes pop in a seemingly innocuous place. I think Edgy is right that Diaz's body language implied that he knew something wasn't right. But I guess he thought there was no harm in joining the celebration.
