Wandering around the stadium before the game, I've seen about four people in Marlins gear, and most everyone else supporting the Mets. There are more people in WBC gear than Marlins gear! Excited to see Senga!

This is a Big Game. Marlins look pesky and need to be put in their place; Mets need to win the series like good clubs do.

Pham looked good! Disappointed with the ballpark. I've been here five or six times snd it gets blander each time.

Mets did what they had to here. A split wouldn't have been satisfactory. Senga seems like the real deal, but he also looked like he was wearing down in that 6th inning. Pham supposedly got new contacts so supposedly he's seeing everything better. WTF? You're a professional athlete and your job depends on you being able to see stuff! How is this even an issue? Escobar must be hearing footsteps. Don't think Baty's going to be in Syracuse long.

The glorious home run sculpture is outside the stadium now. It was really cool when it was inside and was in motion after a homer.



Every other time I've been there, there were Cuban bands walking around the concourse playing, and activities outside pre-game. There used to be a whole section of Cuban food stands. And while I don't go to a ballgame for food, it's neat to see something different. There is pretty much the same old stuff now.



The team doesn't sell a yearbook or program. If you want a scorecard you have to find the one customer service kiosk that has it.



Each of the team shops had the same stuff, and a pretty limited selection. There is practically nothing about the team or the players hanging anywhere. It's become like a giant generic baseball place.



The roof was closed to day, too, which seemed odd because it was a beautiful sunny day and didn't seem all that hot outside.



Other than the blandness, it was a rare thrill to take my Dad to a game and see the Mets in person.

I was surprised to find that the Mets have had more Japanese-born players (or was it just pitchers?) than any other organization. I feel like this is the first time they went out and got the top Japanese player coming over. They've gotten Hideo Nomo and Daisuke Matsuzaka at the back end of their careers, but this may be the first time they've landed a star pitcher when it was the time to land him.

Yeah, I guess I meant to write "pitchers" there. Kaz came over in a class with Shingo Takatsu, Kazuhito Tadano, and Akinori Otsuka, and was indeed probably tops-on-arrival from that group.
