TWiB Notes - April 3 thru 9

It's the start of the first full week of 2023 Baseball and of TWiBBing

Philly, the only winless team in the NL (also DET & KCR) head to the Bronx for a three game set starting tonight.

I like how the Phils, behind starts by Nola & Wheeler, coughed up 27 runs to the Rangers in the first two games

then held them to just two runs on Sunday night ... but lost anyway.

The rest of the NL East starts three-game series today also:

- the 2 - 1 Braves head to StL

- the Nats (1 - 2) host Tampa

- and the 1 - 3 Marlins host the Twins

deGrom strikes out 11 Orioles in 6 innings ... throws 92 pitches .... picks up first AL win ... Rangers are in 1st place.

Braves scored twice on three straight two-out hits in the 8th to tie the Padres 6-6

They then notched two straight hits after two were out w/none on in the 9th for a walk-off win in their home opener.

They're 6-1 now and I'm predicting them to win like 140 games this year.

Baby Bro Diaz blows a 2R save opp for the Reds in Philly as the Phightins' score 3 in the 9th after being shut out for 8 innings.

Bottom 8 in San Francisco, Giants losing 1-0 vs. KC, 2 outs.

Flores RBI double

Conforto: 2 run homer

Giants win 3-1

Re: TWiB Notes - April 3 thru 9

So after my pronouncement a couple days ago concerning the near invincibility of the 2023 Braves, they go out and get swept in their home opening series by the Padres this weekend culminating with a 10-2 drubbing on SNB.

I concede that my previous projection about them winning 140 games this year may have been just slightly influenced by a moment of frustration brought on by their sweep of StL while the Mets were being non-competative vs Milwaukee. Just maybe.

Would be nice if we could further erase the taste of last week by handling our upcoming series with SDP a lot better than they did, not to mention a lot better than we did last October.
