IGT - 4-26-2023 Nats at Mets

MFS62
Apr 26 2023 12:48 PM

Mackenzie Gore 2-1 3.43

Kodai Senga 3-0 4.29

I'm not sure if Gore is related to 60's pop singer Lesley Gore (from Queens) but I hope he has to cry at our party.

I'd like to think of a clever way to mention Gore Vidal in this post, but I can't. He wrote a book called Washington DC, which, as I recall, was about a bunch of people watching tonight's game on TV in a DC apartment. Does that count?

Gore's vi(t)al signs might need monitoring after the Mets get through with him.

The Nats got a decent haul for Soto. McKenzie, Gore is throwing well. Highly regarded prospect James Wood is doing well in the minors. CJ Abrams hadn't done much yet. I believe Soto has been underwhelming as a Padre to this point

He bunted w/a runner on 3d and no outs but didn't bunt w/a runner on 1st and no outs. The exciting news is that the Mets signed him to a two-year contract in the off-season.

This team is hard to watch.

I think the Japanese/English translator should come out for all the mound conferences and pitching changes, no matter who is pitching. It'd be a good way to mess with minds.

Meanwhile, I get a radio commercial every other break telling me how excited I should be for MLB rule changes.

Set up for the top of the lineup and none of them even came close. The dribbler towards 1st was the best contact of the inning.

Besides, the way they look now, they may not score for the remainder of the month no matter who's pitching.

Five outs from Harvey on 18 pitches.

I think Senga threw that many to the first batter of the game.

As AJ Minter closes out the Marlins on 11 pitches.

It's tough to feel positive after looking like the worst team in the history of baseball over the last four days, particularly against two of the actual worst teams.

Win either of those last two in SF and we'd have been in 1st place. Now it looks like we'll be mathematically eliminated from winning the NLE come Monday.
