x-Met Taijuan Walker (4-2, 5.57) opposes Max Scherzer (4-2, 3.54) in a 1:10 pm start on a very nice day in NYC. I'll miss most of this of course.

I'm always torn on these weekday matinees. Do I attempt to follow it while also working, or listen on XM on my phone in real time? Or do I ignore all social media and watch an SNY replay this evening? I have so many errands I could otherwise be doing tonight, but of course none of them are as enjoyable as watching a Mets game.

Tom McCarthy and Ben Davis whined about Lindor's throw to 1st on the DP yesterday. Tom McCarthy stunk as a Mets announcer, is a lousy football announcer, and his son works for the Mets (so he's a nepo-announcer). getting really sick of seeing Voglebus in the lineup...I think that I have more faith in Nido getting an RBI with a runner on 2nd, then I have confidence that Voglebus will drive in the runner...

I am sure that this has been discussed before but...I really don't like all the betting information that SNY and MLB Network supply during the games, highlight shows and pre/post game shows...Shoeless Joe must be rolling over in his grave when he hears it...

Nice to see McNeil mcbreak through. It would be nice to run Walker, but I don't know. Waiting him out certainly works. I hope they are patient enough.

pete could have bunted for a hit and RBI with how much room was between the 1B/2B...but he whiffs against a groundball pitcher that doesn't get a lot of swings and misses...

the kicker is, the only time that he doesn't leave the bat on his shoulder is when you expect a walk (runners on base with a base open)

weird technicality question now with the universal DH... If a pitcher enters a game as a Pinch Hitter, can he stay in the game as a pitcher without losing the DH? In other words, if Soto pinch hit for Sosa...can Sota continue to pitch, while someone else takes Sosa's spot in the order and in the field?
