Luis Severino attacks, Max Scherzer counters, and hopefully the Tuesday Night Mets Club will be witnesses to the drama. MLB.tv has been telling me for three weeks that this series was all about Aaron Judge vs. Pete Alonso. Well, not so much.

Pathetic 3/15 w/RiSP, more than a few of those with multiple RiSP. Yet those produced just 4 runs [McNeal single x 2, Baty single, Guillorme single]. The other 2 runs came via Nimmo driving himself in plus a GiDP ball that the Yanx failed to turn. Our XBH quota was filled on the 2nd pitch of the game. I assume that the record for losing games with five run leads in the same week is seven or less but that's at least four for us so maybe this gives us the honors on that front.

I question why Pham batted against a righty in the ninth with a lefty on the bench in Vogelbach. I question why he batted despite a lefty on the bench and him already being in the midst of a lousy game, coming to the plate oh-for-four with two strikeouts — soon to be oh-for-five with three strikeouts. I question why Escobar ran for Álvarez. Was there that great a speed opportunity in the situation? Was the speed edge there that great, since we were burning two guys to replace one, thereby not having two lefties on the bench in the ninth, and not having Álvarez in the lineup at all? I can't call any of these decisions unjustifiable, but I have these questions.

The Tuesday Night Mets Club cheaped out and bought the least expensive seats they could bear which was 14 rows up in 523 (shallow left field) where we were badly outnumbered by cheapass MFY fans. No friction except this one guy a 2 rows back who intended to start trouble but might have been retarded so we left him alone. I wish Scherzer pitched well enough so we could trade him, I've absolutely had it with that guy. i know he got unlucky with the soft hits but this isn't what we signed up for.

Yeah, for whatever reason, perhaps to spare the team an extended absence, or perhaps to spare him any stigma, they decided to do it without deactivating him. And now that it's been reported, he gets potential stigmatized anyhow.
