What is this deal with them picking up Triple-A pitchers who have been awful in the majors, then soon promoting them to the majors? This guy will be no different. Vinny Nattoli is a good recent example. Prior examples include Yacabonis and Edwin Uceta were other examples.

Those are the guys that end up on the waiver wire. if you have a spot on the roster and you think your scouts know something the numbers don't, you pull the trigger. Considering how small the sample size of his major league performance is, that's not all that long a shot. Great job on the thread title. G-Fafif still cares.

Garrett's minor league numbers the past 2 years suggest he is at least worth having at Syracuse. If he can do more than that, great.
