Two huge Jet legacies here, somehow with zero Pro Bowls between them.

Three time league leader in solo tackles

(1985–1986, 1988). Finished in the league's

top ten seven other times. All-time team

leader in solo tackles. Retired as second all-

time in solo tackles in NFL history. All-time

team leader in games played at linebacker.

Fourth in team history, and second among

defensive players, in fumble recoveries.
Surpassed 3,000 yards passing three times

(1980–1981, 1983). Led league in yards per

attempt in 1979. Set an NFL record with 42

completions in a single game in 1980. Third

in team history in passing yards, attempts,

completions, and touchdowns. Fifth all-time

in team historyin game-winning drives. All-

time team leader in rushing yards (821) and

rushing touchdowns (14) by a quarterback.
Played for a half dozen different linebacker

coaches with the team, including Jim

Vechiarella twice.
An Alabama quarterback, Todd replaced

fellow Crimson Tide passer [CROSSOUT]Richard Todd[/CROSSOUT] Joe

Willie Namath with the Jets and then later

replaced fellow alum Ken Stabler with the

Saints.

Odd fact about Richard Todd: for everything besides throwing a football, he was left-handed.

Yeah, Todd is full of odd biographical data. He's certainly a contender for All-Time Jet Curiosity champion.
