I'm guessing Scherzer comes out for one batter. Tough call for Buck. Whether he sticks with Scherzer, goes with Gott, or goes straight to Robertson, he'll own it if it blows up.

If I'm on defense I'd rather increase the odds of the ghost runner getting to 3rd on an out (even the 1st one) than I would increasing the odds of a grounder getting through and (probably) ending the game right there. Prior to two strikes I have no problem. But I would have moved 'em back after that.

You're certainly correct but, with the rules giving teams an extra challenge if/when the game goes to extra innings, there's no incentive to Not challenge in that situation.
