The Mets pull into a tie with San Diego in the league-wide standings. The Pads are just getting underway (delayed start, actually) in a nice matchup (Dunning pitching against Musgrove) against Texas.

The Pads were able to win handily over the Rangers, allowing them to finish the evening a half game ahead of the Mets, so the Rangers will have remain your prime non-Mets rooting interest for one more night. The Marlins are totally catchable, as their offense is very poor, but the Mets obviously have lent them a hand up in the form of David Robertson. As these things tend to go, Miami, San Francisco, and Arizona have all run cold just as the Cubs and Reds have heated up. A big part of whatever hopes remain for the Mets may depend on getting out of Baltimore with their shirts still on, or at least catching someone before they arrive in Baltimore.
