Pretty stupid for dedicated fans to need to re-familiarize themselves with a division opponent during a series in September!

But MLB doesn't think of the downsides of revamped scheduling because they're too busy touting what they believe to be an upside.

During the PointsBet segment of the pre-game they had an over/under of

Vientos seems to be doing better lately, and drives in the first run.

I saw the Mets play the Marlins early in the season -- Senga's first game. If you had told me that day that the Marlins would be fighting for a playoff spot and the Mets fighting to avoid being in last place, I would never have believed it.

Nice park, though. Not as fun as it used to be. But still nice.

I hope this pinch-hitting appearance by Álvarez produces something, because it takes Guillorme's glove out of a one-run game..

I'm guessing it's Locastro in the outfield, and McNeil to second, and Mauricio stays at third.

This was probably the first time since the Mets temporarily prevented the Marlins from clinching the Wild Card in 1997 that they've taken a truly big game from them -- big for the Marlins -- and, man, it feels good.

Yeah, in both cases, they kinda looked like righthanded batters forced to bat lefty for some reason.

Classic case(s) of being somewhat off balance but 'keeping the hands back' pays off in the end. Dykstra's triple off Knepper comes to mind as well, just in a bigger park.

Good call on Dykstra. Ass totally flew out.

After the Mets grind out a win over a hot Marlins team, beating the top reliever of the second half in a lefty-on-lefty matchup, I take the dogs out and get poos out of both of them at the same house.

I feel crazy lucky. I need to go get some scratch cards.

I was out, and checked the score mid game. It was 3-1 Fish and Soler had hit a two run homer.

What happened? Was it reversed on review?

Do I have to check my meds?

Re: IGT 09/18 - Metropolitans at Fishlips - Hold Your Head UP ll

It didn't even have to go to review. The umps convened and the other three told the third-base ump he got it wrong.

The crew chief then sent it to Chelsea for review without either manager having to burn a challenge. The video evidence (at least on the Mets side) was the very definition of "inconclusive," so the call on the field stood. Fortunately for the Mets, the call on the field at the time of review was "foul."

From where it landed, foul certainly seemed to be the correct conclusion to my eyes, but there was no clear shot of the ball passing in front of or behind the pole. Foul was most likely the correct call, but there is still some ambiguity. I disagree with Gary that it cleared the fence higher than the pole. I don't know why (a) there aren't cameras positioned at the base of the poles pointed upward, just to help make these calls, or (b) the Stat-Cast ball-tracking technology can't be configured to make these calls for them.
