The Phillies will be calling up a rookie whose name I didn't get to start game two. Look for Game One benchriders Brandon Nimmo, Francisco Álvarez, Mark Vientos, and Daniel Vogelbach to see some action.

Phils called up a Michael Plassmeyer for his first taste of the bigs. Plassmeyer sounds like a fictitious name of a guy you shouldn't trust in a prep-school movie or something.

The Mets go up 4-0 as a relay throw skips by Trea Turner. I don't know how that's an error on the leftfielder. On a throw from an outfielder, a cutoff guy has all the time in the world to position himself for the catch. It's not like the guy has to hold the base, and it didn't go over his head or anything. And as I type, Plassmeyer plunkmeyers two Mets in a row.

What our booth is missing is that all teams are on the same page regarding pitching because they are all one organization and there is no consequence for failure. This leads to lack of meaningful innovation. Or every team innovates in the same way at the same time.

We caught both Alvarez dingers on our drive home from Parents' Day in Oneonta, NY. Frankie is still my daughter's favorite Met because he's "so adorable."
