Zvon May 14 2006 02:42 PM |

Nymr83 May 14 2006 02:44 PM |

Bret Sabermetric May 14 2006 03:37 PM |
The radio guys announce that the Mets have not "publicly thought" about Saturday's pitcher, although they concede that they have certainly thought about it in private.
Zvon May 14 2006 03:40 PM |

Zvon May 14 2006 04:16 PM |

Edgy DC May 14 2006 04:16 PM |
Wright getting a crap call from the umpire, still hangs in there and ties it with a dubble.
Zvon May 14 2006 04:17 PM |
wow--no error on the play.
metirish May 14 2006 04:18 PM |
How was that NOT an error on Jenkins?....
Zvon May 14 2006 04:22 PM |
Ya know-even if it was a clean double (which it wasnt) no way was Delgado going to score on a typical double.
DocTee May 14 2006 04:22 PM |
Four runs on three hits; Zvon's right: walks and errors do kill.
Bret Sabermetric May 14 2006 04:29 PM |
Changed the scoring to a single and an error on Jenkins. Wright loses a ribbie.
Zvon May 14 2006 04:30 PM |
well,....they made the right dicision there. It was a huge error. Pedros done. Lets pick him up guys.
Edgy DC May 14 2006 04:32 PM |
Release Valentin now!
Zvon May 14 2006 04:32 PM |

This blows, and Philly won again today...

Zvon May 14 2006 04:56 PM |
Turnbow blows Beltran away.

Elster88 May 14 2006 05:01 PM Edited 2 time(s), most recently on May 14 2006 05:04 PM |
Wow.
Zvon May 14 2006 05:01 PM |
WHEW
metirish May 14 2006 05:02 PM |
Gray was right about how big Delgado going to 3rd on Wrights grounder....it's the small things that he does that are also impressive.
Edgy DC May 14 2006 05:03 PM |
That wasn't quite diving.
Elster88 May 14 2006 05:03 PM Edited 1 time(s), most recently on May 14 2006 05:05 PM |
I said "sort of" diving. If you've got a better way to explain be my guest. It's a better written record than "infield hit"
Zvon May 14 2006 05:04 PM |
that other view says maybe a tie at 1st. cripes, these umps.
Elster88 May 14 2006 05:05 PM |
If he had caught it, Nady was definitely out.
Zvon May 14 2006 05:05 PM |
i think Edge was referring to my call on Clark. What can i say-im over dramatic.
Elster88 May 14 2006 05:05 PM |
My apologies.
Zvon May 14 2006 05:06 PM |
.....a lunging catch.
Elster88 May 14 2006 05:06 PM |
Is it just nerves? Or is Wright just a bad fielder?
Zvon May 14 2006 05:07 PM |
DAVID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Elster88 May 14 2006 05:07 PM |
This is what we call over-managing. Wagner is coming out.
Edgy DC May 14 2006 05:08 PM |
I think Ramon Castro should replace David Wright for ninth-inning defense.
Nymr83 May 14 2006 05:08 PM |
its just bad luck. not that he's a great fielder, but if these errors came in the 3rd instead of the 9th nobody would talk about them
Zvon May 14 2006 05:09 PM Edited 1 time(s), most recently on May 14 2006 05:11 PM |
if that was to his left or right- he makes the play no problem. Its the ones right to him...i dunno what it is. But i used to play third and Id have to say a lack of concentration. he finds himself with too much time and he thinks---if it was hit harder he would have made it as well.
Edgy DC May 14 2006 05:10 PM |
Freakin' Bradford submarines his pickoff throw. Amazin'.
Elster88 May 14 2006 05:11 PM |
It's a bit of a leap to say that.
I'd still be talking about them. I think other folks would be too.
Zvon May 14 2006 05:12 PM |
For this game we would have. This whole games been one big error.
Zvon May 14 2006 05:16 PM |
whew
Elster88 May 14 2006 05:16 PM |
I think the fact that they DO seem so concentrated in the ninth could be a point in favor of Wright being a good fielder. Maybe he only makes errors in "big" spots, so he actually is an excellent fielder. 'Course, I doubt there will be many subscribers to that idea on this site.
Zvon May 14 2006 05:18 PM |
there's no doubt that Wrights a good fielder.
Elster88 May 14 2006 05:18 PM |
Eddie C, no matter what you think of him, does have a soothing voice. I wonder if he narrates any books on tape.
Rockin' Doc May 14 2006 05:20 PM |
Elster88 - "I think the fact that they DO seem so concentrated in the ninth could be a point in favor of Wright being a good fielder. Maybe he only makes errors in "big" spots, so he actually is an excellent fielder."
ScarletKnight41 May 14 2006 05:20 PM |
I love Mr. Wright, but I don't think that he's a naturally gifted fielder.
Nymr83 May 14 2006 05:20 PM |
And I think their being concentrated in the 9th is why we remember them and comment on them the next time Wright makes an error.
Elster88 May 14 2006 05:21 PM |
Leave Floyd on the bench. Valentin with his fourth hit.
Zvon May 14 2006 05:21 PM |
Nymr83 May 14 2006 05:21 PM |
Valentin decided to have a hot week and save his undeserved roster spot for another month or two
The Big O May 14 2006 05:22 PM |
Nady got removed in the double-switch, Floyd batting 9th, Valentin shifts to right. And now he's 4-for-5 on the day.
Rockin' Doc May 14 2006 05:22 PM |
Lead off single by Valentin. Come on Cliff. This would be a great time for one of your big Bang-Pow jobs to right field.
Edgy DC May 14 2006 05:22 PM |
Valentin:
Zvon May 14 2006 05:23 PM |
I have seen too many of Floyds bats breaking the last few weeks.
Rockin' Doc May 14 2006 05:23 PM |
Then again, apparently not.
Elster88 May 14 2006 05:24 PM |
Matsui got his hit for today. Pull him.
Edgy DC May 14 2006 05:25 PM |
All whipping boys bringing the lumber.
Rockin' Doc May 14 2006 05:27 PM |
Damn! Why can't more of the Mets hit like Valentin.
Zvon May 14 2006 05:29 PM |
OUCH.
metirish May 14 2006 05:30 PM |
Valentin is just amazing...
Zvon May 14 2006 05:30 PM |
ohhh..what a play by Valentin...
Edgy DC May 14 2006 05:31 PM |
How much Schaefer can Valentin drink?
metirish May 14 2006 05:32 PM |
Damn game over just like that, Hall with a home run.
Zvon May 14 2006 05:32 PM |
awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww dooky.
Elster88 May 14 2006 05:32 PM |
shit
Rockin' Doc May 14 2006 05:32 PM |
DAMN!!!! DAMN!!!! DAMN!!!!
GYC May 14 2006 05:33 PM |
Mets: 13
The Big O May 14 2006 05:33 PM |
Oh ... yarrrrh
Zvon May 14 2006 05:34 PM |
Hall with a walk off.
Hillbilly May 14 2006 05:34 PM |
Yuk!
Bret Sabermetric May 14 2006 05:36 PM |
Ya think this goes under "WWSB out-manages himself"? You lose in 10 with your best reliever out of the game?
Hillbilly May 14 2006 05:38 PM |
No. Yet, Wags should have finished the 9th. This one is on leaving 13 men on base.
DocTee May 14 2006 05:44 PM |
This sucks-- heading into a tough part of the schedule too.
Rockin' Doc May 14 2006 05:48 PM |
I think that Bret has a valid point. You may not like his posting style, but I agree with him that Willie over managed with regards to his bullpen management in the ninth inning.
Zvon May 14 2006 05:48 PM |
You mean not used in the game? I would have considered this game one I wanted to win and that was the top of the lineup there, so maybe, yea. If it went for much longer we still had Julio,Oliver,Bell............
Zvon May 14 2006 05:49 PM |
there is that lil factoid^
Centerfield May 14 2006 06:37 PM |
This game hurt. Now I'm going to be in a pissy mood until Tuesday night.
Bret Sabermetric May 14 2006 06:56 PM |
Yes. I was between rooms when Feliciano made his appearance--I assumed that Wags had been put in and taken out while I was futzing around between radios. The Mets are 15-13 since their 8-1 start.
Gwreck May 14 2006 08:00 PM |
Umm, unless there's a joke I'm missing here, Billy Wagner wasn't pitching. It was Pedro Feliciano.
SteveJRogers May 14 2006 08:12 PM |
I was a a Mothers Day party at my sister's place, I bring my 6 month year old nephew over to the TV to watch a little ball. JUST at the moment Hall cracks the game winner!
DocTee May 14 2006 10:36 PM |
A moment later I hear a cry from my little guy, and I say "Well, must be a Met fan!"And a jinx-- keep him away from the set when the Mets are on.
GYC May 14 2006 10:41 PM |
Save him while you can. Buy him a Braves hat or something.
Hillbilly May 15 2006 11:04 AM |
No joke, went down the hall, heard there was a double switch and made the wrong assumption. Still lack of hitting with men on and bad play in the field were biggest contributors to this loss.
