No, Diaz is a pretty fair hitter. There's no future in calling for rookies to come up, If they come up and make it, you'll get told that the Mets nurtured them on the farm until just the peak of ripeness. They weren't called up a moment too soon. And if they don;'t make it, you'll get labelled a moron. I think they have the label all printed for you and everything. It's a losing game. Better to ask for proven MLB veterans, and when they flop, just say "Who knew? He batted .301 in in 1989."

Milledge isn't going anywhere. He is 7 for his last 48 and needs to work out his first major slump as a pro.
