How exactly is this thread non-baseball? I was just watching a game from August 1995 with Carl Everett yesterday (they're still in the bottom of the seventh, tied 2-2 against the Padres' Joey Hamilton--we're starting to get to him, although he was absolutely brilliant until Jeff Kent whacked a HR and Brogna slammed a double--no one remind how it comes out please!)--what terrific fun watching that team of young talents (or not-such-talents--Everett, Kent, Brogna, Ryan Thomson, Hundley, Huskey (starting at 3b!) and a pitching staff of Pulse, Izzy, Mlicki. Even John Franco was fairly young then. I had no expectations of that team, and loved watching them turn into MLB players, some (Kent) more successfully than others, but all very exciting to watch, even Kelly Stinnett and Daman Buford. Can't wait until the top of the eighth!
