What are the odds that this hateful, non-baseball-related post gets into the RLF any time soon?

Plus now I can tell him what I think of him.

I find his comments hurtful. And cruel. And uncalled-for.

There. I feel so much better now.

There is no need for this thread, it's stupid and not needed.....

Well, it's kind of interesting, Irish. If I had jumped into a baseball thread to interject how much I personally hated another poster, and contributed nothing else, I think it would be pretty well agreed that it should go into the RLF, that I should be banned, that I had no business posting here, etc.

But I get a lot of stick as well--by my count as much as I give (I try to keep things approximately even, though to a Met fan, it may well not seem that way). So this helps to show that I do, in fact, attract a lot of gratuitous and personal attacks coming out out of nowhere, just because I don't like the Mets so much.

Further, it means that I can raise the issue without hijacking the thread, which makes people understandably annoyed with me, even when I'm the one being attacked. I think that a good chunk of the animosity I've incurred here traces back to my feeling "victimized"--i.e., someone attacks me in a thread, where I respond to the attack, or just tell the attacker to piss off, we're trying to discuss baseball here, and he gives me some more stick, and everyone's eventually pissed off, mainly at me. This was (and perhaps still is) one of KC's favorite techniques--I'd say something snotty about the Mets, he'd attack my character, I'd ask him to stick to the game or take it to the RLF, he'd refuse, I'd ask why he was refusing, etc. and it would be a mess. This way, it's at least managable.

Hey, I have an idea. How 'bout we stop brining up each others names in
posts and get on with our online lives? We have people quitting because
of it, we have people who have quit over it, we have people who think I'm
a dick, we have people who think you're a dick, we have people who think
we're both dicks - the one constant is that everyone is sick of it.

I can stop if you can, but it would go a long way in helping if I didn't open
up threads and finding you talking about me with no real motive that you've
provided publicly or privately other than to be disruptive and seemingly want
to get back at me for something.

5/15 - One day a time Bret, we can do it! Who will fall off the wagon first?

And what should I do when posters like GYC happen to mention how much they hate my guts, KC?

Turn the other cheek?

I'll do that, but only if you allow me the Jesus avatar at full size. Deal?

This splitting posts away from a thread can make for some confusing reading at times. It often breaks up the continuity and flow of the threads.

For instance, in the original IGT between GYC's post and Bret's reponse, I had written the following in response to GYC:

]I think that Bret has a valid point. You may not like his posting style, but I agree with him that Willie over managed with regards to his bullpen management in the ninth inning.

My post remains in the initial IGT while both GYC's and Sal's reponses have been moved here. Reading through the IGT, it now appears that I was talking to myself. Frayed Knot has since made some good points showing the rational and merits of Willie making the double switch and replacing Feliciano with Bradford.

great point Doc.

Yes, it's lunacy. I was trying to make that point by bifurcating threads early and often, and I'm glad to see that point getting made.

OTOH, if people keep saying unkind things TO me, instead of me saying unkind things to others, then perhaps Doc's point will get taken seriously, and this wholesale red-lighting business will stop.
