This was a tough loss. Trachsel gave the Mets a great performance, but Mulder was just as good for the Cardinals. Both pitchers stymied the opposing batters most of the night. The Cardinals scored the lone run of the game when Scott Rolen golfed a double to centerfield to plate Albert Pujols in the sixth inning. Mulder, with some help from former Met Jason Isringhausen, was able to make the lone run hold up. Sometimes you just have to tip your hat to your opponent, then go out and beat their ass the next day.
So raise a frosty mug of Michelob Ultra* to Mark Mulder and the Cardinals. 
*It's fine to toast your opponents for a game well played, but I'm not going to waste a good beer doing it.
