Why let Cairo prance around the bags at will?

While this was nothing compared to letting Wagner continue to pitch when it was clear he couldn't hit the strike zone, I was left wondering why it seemed that no effort was made to hold Cairo on to first or second base.

I was wondering that myself as I watched Miguel Freakin' Cairo running around the bases virtually unchalleged. Poor defense by the Mets.

Jorge Julio SUX at holding runners on, its just part of the package you get with him and not really something we didnt (or shouldnt have) know about before hand.

Well, we're going to have to teach Julio to hold runners on that. It was embarassing to watch and fucking cost us the game.

Really, it's not like Cairo is the equivalent of Vincent Coleman in his pre-firecracker and bleach days.

Rose said on radio that Castro may have been playing conservatively, afraid of throwing the ball away and letting Cairo score. Ignorant, if you ask me.

Give him Julio pitching and Piazza catching, and Ivan James Dickshot could lead the NL in SB this season (even given his late start).

Castro had NO SHOT at Cairo at either 2nd or 3rd, his jump off of Julio was just obscene.
