Forget Milledge; A's want Wright or Reyes for Zito

With Eric Chavez in the fold, I guess they'd have figured out what to do with Wright later. Of course, the Mets retained their sanity, along with Wright and Reyes. Understandably, the Mets now view Zito as a winter target. Wright and Reyes aren't going anywhere, but the next most untouchable on the Mets' list, even ahead of Lastings Milledge, might be Mike Pelfrey. What a freaking joke.

A's are in 1st place in a weak division. Very tough to justify trading Zito. One of those players would be about enough at this point. No joke in their request I'm sure.

The A's are set at both Short and Third (Bobby Crosby and Eric Chavez).

You doubted the Rays wanted Kazmir for Zambrano, too, didn't you? Didn't you doubt the Mets were trading Wiggy for a two-month rental of Benson? Wasn't it nuts to trade Seo for some reliever you'd never heard of? Have some faith in your Mets, please. They will do "such things" (to quote King Lear) "--What they are, yet I know not: but they shall be The terrors of the earth.that will make your blood freeze up in your veins."
