Seeing that cooby's not been posting all week, I don't know when you'll get a response to this challenge.

Yep, give me time to cook and eat my dinner, do the dishes, etc, etc. and I'll get to it. I'm around

Yeah, you owe me a tune with a chick ringer.

Look they did it with her also: http://www.amazon.com/gp/music/clipserve/B0009YNSJW001016/0/ref=mu_sam_wma_001_016/002-1809221-3968000

Interesting Def Leppard fact: Their debut album featured a track titled "Hello, America," and when they toured more in the US, supporting American acts, British rock fans concluded that they were looking past their home country and pandering to the US market. When they played Britian's Reading Festival, they were pelted with garbage.
Interesting ELO fact: Their debut album was called ELO in Britain. When the American label went to release, a secretary was charged with calling England to find out the title. She was unable to connect, and her note reading "No Answer" was passed up the chain of command, leading the label to mistakenly release the album stateside with the title No Answer.

I spy with my little a eye a dozen men with bad hair styles and poor fashion sense.

ELO - 10 / DEF LEPPARD - 0

No contest for me.

P.S. I can understand people liking Def Leppard (ya know because I'm a tolerant kind of guy) but if the Leppard wins this challenge I'm seriously going to have to reconsider cyber-socializing with you people.

Just so you know.

"Love Bites" vs. "Can't Get It Out of My Head"
--ELO, for being less objectionable.

"Let's Get Rocked" vs. "Don't Bring Me Down"
--This one’s for you, Bruce. ELO

"Pour Some Sugar On Me" vs. "Do Ya?"
--One of Deffy’s stronger entries undermined by a shiny pop gem. ELO.

"Armageddon It" vs. "Evil Woman"
-- I like the beat, and the phony(?) violin countermelody in EW, but hate the chorus and the singing. Gigantic production in ‘Armageddon’ makes the drummer sound like his one and only arm weights 4,000 pounds. Tie.

"Photograph" vs. "Livin' Thing"
--Def Leppard

"Hysteria" vs. "Mr. Blue Sky"
--Def Leppard

"Foolin'" vs. "Strange Magic"
--Never understood the appeal of ‘Foolin’ – perhaps the worst hit song ever to incorporate stammering delivery (certainly far behind Muh-Muh My Generation and “Cha-na-na-na-na knees!” ELO

"Rock Of Ages" vs. "Sweet Talkin' Woman"
--STW is a wonderful little pop tune. ELO.

"Bringin' On The Heartbreak" vs. "Telephone Line"
--‘Telephone Line’ was my sister’s favorite song for awhile. She had the 45. ELO.

"Animal" vs. "Turn To Stone"
--These are both OK, I’ll take Lep here.

Great random facts, by the way.

ELO 6.5, Def Leppard 3.5

"Love Bites" vs. "Can't Get It Out of My Head"
ELO

"Let's Get Rocked" vs. "Don't Bring Me Down"
Crap ELO beats horrid DL.

"Pour Some Sugar On Me" vs. "Do Ya?"
When I was a kid, I read accounts --- maybe either the account or my memory is bogus -- from Jim Thorpe's college football days, featuring scores like Haskell Indian Nations University 59 - Notre Dame 6, Haskell Indian Nations University 64, Ohio State 0. ELO in wins in that sort of a contest. Def Leppard just can't tackle Jeff Lynne. I think you know what I'm tryin' to say now woman.

"Armageddon It" vs. "Evil Woman" - ELO
"Armageddon It" is an intro waiting for the song to show up. ELO.

"Photograph" vs. "Livin' Thing"- ELO
Welcome to the board, Leppard. Barely.

"Hysteria" vs. "Mr. Blue Sky"
Oops. Jim Thorpe is back. ELO

"Foolin'" vs. "Strange Magic"
Tie.

"Rock Of Ages" vs. "Sweet Talkin' Woman"
ELO in a tight one.

"Bringin' On The Heartbreak" vs. "Telephone Line" - ELO
Def Leppard.

"Animal" vs. "Turn To Stone"
ELO.

Leppard produced albums on four-year cycles, each time producing a new genaration of 14-year-olds getting their rocks off and a new generation of 18-year-olds embarassed that they liked them four years earlier.

I never liked them, but the ones I voted for here are the ones that came out when I was 14.

ELO is what they is. The Monkees used "Hard Days Night" as a jumping off point and the Byrds used "Nowhere Man." ELO, for better and/or for worse, used "I Am the Walrus." ELO wins on my ballot 7.5-2.5.

for me, this matchup is like a Braves - Yankees game.
In those circumstances, i just root for injuries.

For me its more like an interleague matchup of Colorado and Tampa Bay. Two lightweights that I couldn't give a flying fig about.

sorry seawolf, but Def Leppard was just not my cup of tea
(I would just like to state at this time that until tonight I had no idea what ELO looked like. I just can't put my finger on it, but for some reason that guy on the far right reminds me of Edgy...)
