...if I ever want to come back to regular posting status on the CPF again, and decide to become a Koolaid swilling, all-forgiving Met fan again.

Not that I'm even toying with the idea or anything. This is actually working out pretty well for me (I read a book instead of listening to a single pitch of last night's 15-inning game) but WOW have I burned some bridges if I ever did want to return.

OTOH, I think I helped some of my friends and former friends to bond a little tighter, all of them grateful that, however little use they might have for each other, at least none of them is half the jerkwad that bastard Bret turned into.

That's one rationalization, anyway. I'll work on others, and post them here because I know how interested you all are in the smallest minutia of my mind. I mean, you're reading this post right now, aren't you, and you knew that this was a thread that I'd started in a Forum pretty well devoted to my posts, so there must be some interest there, mustn't there?

Your behavior here has in no way affected my friendships with anyone here,
positively or negatively, you have the ego the size of a freakin' planet some-
times.

My offer for lunch remains open through the summer. I'm sure we can get a
few others to join us if you ever change your mind and I insist that it's on me.

You have my email and my cell phone number.

Not all the time? I think it's more like all the time. Nevertheless, you may not have changed in your friendships in the slightest, but I could have heard from CPFers who have told me that they feel sympathy for you in all my meanness over the last few months. "I don't give a shit about KC personally, but Bret your over-the-top behavior really makes me feel for the poor abused guy," yyybbb.

It's not always about how YOU feel, KC, you know. Sometimes other people figure into the equation. Check that massive ego at the door, will you?

Yeah, well we can talk about our egos and all that other stuff maybe some
Saturday at Virgil's during the summer. Or not.

And it's right down the block from Vic's office, too. I love eating with that guy, he makes me feels dainty and quite moderate in my portions.

Matter of fact, I just today made pulled pork with BBQ sauce for the first time, based on Virgil's preparation style.. I've got servings that should last me through early September, but I like your persistence. I'll hook up with you, no problem, sometime soon. I'll drop you an e-mail, okay?
