So many heroes and so few slots for nominating players for POTG consideration. This game went late into the night, but it was worth every minute of sleep deprivation to see ESPN Gameday post the infamous line, "Ball in play- run scoring play" during Beltran's at bat in the 16th inning. What a great feeling when it registered that he had hit a walk off home run for the Mets.

The bullpen combined for a stellar performnance that made this victory possible. They combined to pitch 11 innings while allowing only 2 runs on 5 hits allowed. They struck out 13 Phillies while walking only 4. Now that's what I call relief.

In honor of the home team prevailing in what was surely a big game our local sponsor has graciously agreed to send over a veritable buffet of beers to satisfy virtually anyone's thirst. So drink up team and enjoy, there should be something to please everyone.
I love the baseball on the label of the Pilsner.

Someone should send a cold one to the visitors dugout for Madson, he earned a beer with his outstanding relief effort for the Phillies. Sometimes you just have to tip your cap to your opponent for a job well done.

If your choice for POTG is not listed as a nominee above, simply post his name in bold letters and we'll be sure he gets your vote.

This was too good of a game for people not to cast their vote for POTG.
