The Mets win another series, but are once again foiled in their attempt to break out the brooms. Considering the status of the rotation, I'm quite pleased to have won two out of three. Today Jeremi Gonzalez likely made his last start for the Mets. He miraculously lasted 6 shaky and nerve racking innings. After the game he returned to his locker to find that he had been designated for assignment. I hope someone at least packed the poor stiff a cold beer for the trip.

Jose Reyes was a one man wrecking crew today. The only thing that prevented him from hitting for the cycle was one of his gorgeous triples. It's fun to watch Reyes run.

Xavier Nady returned to the Mets line up after missing a few starts due to a stiff back. He made his presence known with a pair of singles and a walk. Cliff Floyd continued to show signs that he has finally found his stroke. Cliff also went 2-3 while drawing a walk.

The Mets are playing prety well right now. They just have to stop spotting the opposition two or three runs in the first inning.

Tonight the POTG shall receive a 6-pack of Three Stooges Beer in memory of the trio of now departed starters that collectively made Mets fans cringe every fifth game. So here's to you Victor, Jose, and Jeremi. Good luck, goodbye, and good riddance.
