The linups for Game 2:
Centerfield Jun 03 2006 08:05 PM |
Mets swinging the bats like it's getaway day. First 5 go in order. Jamie Wright has thrown like 3 pitches.
Centerfield Jun 03 2006 08:08 PM |
Vizcaino goes deep to make it 1-0. Mets really looking flat here.
ScarletKnight41 Jun 03 2006 08:09 PM |
Jose Freakin' Vizcaino homers to give the Giants a 1-0 lead in the third.

YES! Reyes drives in Chavez to tie the game :)
ScarletKnight41 Jun 03 2006 08:24 PM |
LoDuca follows that up by driving Reyes home! 2-1 Mets :)

metirish Jun 03 2006 08:33 PM |
Great to hear Howie on the TV, what's up with Gary though?
seawolf17 Jun 03 2006 08:33 PM |
There was definitely a package of Swedish Fish on the shelf behind Willie Randolph in that dugout shot.

C'mon, I-Man. Read the whole thread. It's not even one page long.

I saw that but thought CF was taking the piss.
Gwreck Jun 03 2006 08:36 PM |
FWIW, a friend just called to discuss the games and they thought they said Laryngitis (rather than appendicitis) as the reason for Gary's absence.

I love that phrase. I wish I was from the UK.

AP story says "Mets broadcaster Gary Cohen left the ballpark in an ambulance before the first game and was taken to a hospital. The team was awaiting word on his condition."
Gwreck Jun 03 2006 08:56 PM |
Clearly somebody needs to work on those listening skills.
The Big O Jun 03 2006 09:00 PM |
Could be a debilitating largyngitis.
ScarletKnight41 Jun 03 2006 09:04 PM |
2-2 in the 6th.
seawolf17 Jun 03 2006 09:05 PM |
Damn you, Randy Winn.
Edgy DC Jun 03 2006 09:10 PM |
Matsui, hitting crappy, but turned the DP when I needed it there.

Sounds like Madeline.... In the middle of the night, someone someone sat upright and said something is not right!
metirish Jun 03 2006 09:51 PM |
That sucks for Gary, get well soon, any word on who the Mets will call up to take his place, any numbers on the broadcasters in the minors, I hear the guy at Hagerstown is a prospect.
ScarletKnight41 Jun 03 2006 10:04 PM |
And we go to the 10th.
Gwreck Jun 03 2006 10:06 PM |
This didn't work out so well for us the last time this happened. (ie. Bonds vs. Wagner)
Edgy DC Jun 03 2006 10:24 PM |
I'd love another last-at-bat win here. But some of thes wins should happen in the sixth.
Gwreck Jun 03 2006 10:25 PM |
LoDuca - Delgado - Wright coming up, we need to end it here.
Gwreck Jun 03 2006 10:31 PM Edited 1 time(s), most recently on Jun 03 2006 10:31 PM |
Well, whaddya know? David Wright up with the winning run on 3rd....AGAIN....
ScarletKnight41 Jun 03 2006 10:31 PM |
Runners on second and third. Nobody out.
Edgy DC Jun 03 2006 10:31 PM |
Lo Duca and Delgado have done their job.
ScarletKnight41 Jun 03 2006 10:32 PM |
Wright is intentionally walked.
Edgy DC Jun 03 2006 10:32 PM |
Not Wright. Not tonight. He gets walked.
Gwreck Jun 03 2006 10:32 PM |
Damn them and their strategy. Although some redemption for Cliff would be nice.
Rotblatt Jun 03 2006 10:33 PM |
Milledge pinch running for LoDuca. Interesting.
GYC Jun 03 2006 10:33 PM |
If the Mets don't win this game in this inning, I'm going to kill something or somebody.
ScarletKnight41 Jun 03 2006 10:34 PM |
Damn - a 23-year-old rookie pitcher whom we've never seen before.
GYC Jun 03 2006 10:39 PM |
Sac fly by Woodward - Milledge is safe. Thank God.
Edgy DC Jun 03 2006 10:40 PM |
Good choice by Willie.
Gwreck Jun 03 2006 10:40 PM |
Put it in the books!

metirish Jun 03 2006 10:44 PM |
Cool.....
cooby Jun 03 2006 10:45 PM |
well it took almost 10 hours, but they got them in. No Sunday triple header
ScarletKnight41 Jun 03 2006 10:45 PM |
That turned out to be a good move by Willie to pinch run Milledge for LoDuca. The gamble worked - there's no way LoDoca could have scored on that shallow fly.
metirish Jun 03 2006 10:50 PM |
Willie is a genius...nice to hear Howie on the TV again.
Centerfield Jun 03 2006 10:59 PM |
Another walkoff win. Yawn.
OlerudOwned Jun 04 2006 12:02 AM |
Christ that was one hell of a day.
Zvon Jun 04 2006 12:28 AM |

SteveJRogers Jun 04 2006 12:48 AM |
I should be there for a Sunday in the Park!
Elster88 Jun 04 2006 12:02 PM |
Milledge looked silly for the majority of his game-winning run home. He was staring into the outfield almost the entire way. He didn't need to do that. He could've done his slide around the catcher (which was excellent, I'll admit) by seeing the catcher's positioning. I'm sure that looking back over your shoulder is going to slow you down. If he had been tagged out I'd be ranting.
