Delgado takes charge of the infield and the Giants go down 1-2-3 in the 2nd.
|
Elster88 Jun 04 2006 01:35 PM |
Beltran is unshaven today. Makes him look more like a man and less like a baby.

I had thought that Castro chose "Darth Vader's theme" as his at-bat music. But they just played it for Traxxxx too. Maybe they play it for people who don't have their own selection.
|
Edgy DC Jun 04 2006 01:44 PM |
I'm sorry. Did Trachs just come to the plate to "Darth Vader's Theme"?

truDat. He didnt have to dive. But he wants to win the fans over. In a way-he did. I was cheerin.

That I want to see. Wanted to see it there. Another nice inning by Trax. Cliffys got bubble gum on his head! I blame me.

Bloop single by Finley that cost him a bat.

GYC Jun 04 2006 03:08 PM |
Pardon my language, but I'm going to go Shea and kill this fucking guy banging on this sign above the WFAN radio booth. I'm going to break my damned radio out of pure anger and frustration. I can't even fucking hear them over this asshole.
|

And Trax get em 1-2-3!
|
Elster88 Jun 04 2006 03:12 PM |
|
That would be about the worst baserunning decision possible. But I want to see it anyway.
|
Johnny Dickshot Jun 04 2006 03:15 PM |
Pardon my language but bunting is for fucking losers.
|
Zvon Jun 04 2006 03:16 PM |
Jose-either swing or bunt.

Come on peeps. I can read double, walk, K, K, 2-run double in about eighteen different spots on the internet, and it will be archived forever in other spots too. Sorry to pick on you Zvon. Everyone does that, including me. ________________________ Delgado's double one hopped the wall. Milledge's was a sharp line drive between left and center. Bonds cut it off in fairly deep left-center, but then stumbled a couple of steps before throwing it in. The relay from Vizquel was fairly close but Wright beat it pretty easily.

Umm, memo to Duaner: What the fuck?
|
Zvon Jun 04 2006 03:25 PM |
UHG!
|
Elster88 Jun 04 2006 03:26 PM |
Duaner has pitched in exactly half of the Mets games before today. Now he's pitched in just over half.

It's a tough call who has gotten less run support in their "good" starts, Traxxx or Petey.

How the fuck are you going to walk in the go ahead run on 4 pitches with the bases loaded?

Zvon Jun 04 2006 03:32 PM |
Duaner very uncharacteristically walks in a run.

I blame Jose. That's how Sanchez operates....double play balls. And our middle infield has been very good this year. Just didn't get it done this time. Probably escape with no runs scored if the double play is turned. Sanchez gets some blame in my book, but not a lot. I do not blame Willie.
|
Zvon Jun 04 2006 03:37 PM |
Bradford comes in and gets a BIG double play.

Johnny Dickshot Jun 04 2006 03:37 PM |

Disagree on Valentin's failure to bunt. Both Delgado and Wright scored anyway. I agree it was a bad idea to bunt there, but it ultimately had no effect. ----------- Agree 100% on Lo Duca's bunt pop-out.

|
Elster88 Jun 04 2006 03:44 PM |
Someone got tossed in the Giant dugout. I love reading lips on TV. The home plate umpire said "Yeah you."
|
Elster88 Jun 04 2006 03:44 PM |
As Matsui's biggest supporter, I have to say that Valentin desrves to start at second.
|
Zvon Jun 04 2006 03:45 PM |
Valentine riiiiiiiiips a double to left.
|
Elster88 Jun 04 2006 03:45 PM |
This must have been a great day to be at Shea. Nice weather, huge hits by Milledge and Wright, two homers by right, a close game, and a Giant got tossed. Just gotta finish it off.
|
Elster88 Jun 04 2006 03:46 PM |
WOW
|
Johnny Dickshot Jun 04 2006 03:47 PM |

MFS62 Jun 04 2006 04:03 PM |
Why is the closer in there in a tie game?
|
Elster88 Jun 04 2006 04:04 PM |
|
In a tie-game in the top of the ninth or later at home, you bring the closer in because you win it in the bottom of that inning. Edit: I'm Jerry Grote.
|
Zvon Jun 04 2006 04:06 PM |
Reyes works that at bat for alot of pitches-he pops out, but thats still big.
|
Gwreck Jun 04 2006 04:06 PM |

The quote was: "I got closet wheels, closet wheels! Speed kills!" from an interview on the field after the win with Ed Coleman. It was 4 or 5 walkoffs ago -- LoDuca scored the winning run on Wright's single against Rivera in game 1 of the series vs. the MFYs.

MFS62 Jun 04 2006 04:14 PM |

With this team, that's easier said than done. later

Gwreck Jun 04 2006 04:15 PM |
I'm surprised Wagner got lifted after 1 inning. He threw 12 pitches today, 13 yesterday and 2 days off before that.

Watch this on the replay if you get a chance... Lastings heads out to his position after the homer high-fiviing his way down the right-field line. (Cue Bob Raisman or whatever his name is.) He gets to a 10-year-old in a Yankee top and hat and spurns him.

I distinctly remember attending an eerily similar game during Benitez' first year with the Marlins. Might've been his first trip back to Shea. The Marlins got the insurance run in the top of the 9th. Piazza took Benitez deep but we were still 1 run short and lost. OE: Some very useful "Mets Database" type site tells me it was June 5, 2004.
