Memorial Day Plans

D-Dad and MK will march in our township's Memorial Day parade, along with the rest of the Little League. In the afternoon we're attending a charity softball game to benefit a police officer who is battling leukemia. The game will be between the police department and the fire department, and they're calling the event Guns & Hoses.

What will you guys be doing on Monday?

Flag flying off the porch, burgers and dogs on the grill. A little yard work, too.

Maybe doing some housecleaning. Maybe not.

Meditiating on people who put on a uniform and never came home.

And covering my ears. Half a million bikers in town.

I was heading into Boston for some Boston by Foot activity and all around the subway stop in my town the roads were closed off with expectant people lining the sidewalks. It's kind of an odd feeling to be in a place where a parade is about to start but not actually be able to stay and see the parade. Need to schedule better next Memorial Day.

Trying to stop Peanut from waking up the baby every time a firecracker goes off.

That should be a bigger problem on July 4th.

Oh, believe me; it is definitely a problem on the 4th. But it's been rather loud here this evening also, so I'm figuring it'll likely be loud tomorrow.

Opening weekend for Opus 40, so I'm busy, but I did get out to see DaVinci Code tonight, which was a huge mistake.

Al Alberts still perform there?

In Hershey? Not that I noticed. They were hyping upcoming performances by Gary Puckett, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Def Leopard, and a few others who are slipping my mind right now.
