I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincerest apologies to the Baseball Gods and SBS for my inadvertant proclaimation of a Mets sweep in last night's IGT following the Mets win. I was caught up in the moment of the Soler's brilliant shut out and not thinking clearly. My misstep should in no way be interpreted as a prediction of the outcome for today's upcoming game. Please forgive my transgression and accept my sincerest apology.

Love to know how many D-Back fans actually know why Todd Pratt should be forever known to them as Todd F'N Pratt. Heard that one time he was introduced (not sure if this was 2000 or not) and all he got was the general "yeah you play for our opponents today" boo that opponents always get rather than the rancor an Aaron Boone, Bucky Dent, Mookie Wilson, ect, ect, ect get

Nymr83 Jun 11 2006 05:11 PM |
Castro blocks the plate beautifully on chavez's bullet home, there'd be an arizona run on the board right now if loduca had been playing.
|
OlerudOwned Jun 11 2006 05:16 PM |
I think it would be more difficult for Castro to not block the plate, he has a good 5 inches and 50 pounds on LoDuca.
|
Hillbilly Jun 11 2006 05:22 PM |
Pedro settles in to a 1-2-3 2nd inning. Nice!
|
Zvon Jun 11 2006 05:23 PM |
|
LoDuke tends to get out in front of the plate more, but with that throw by Chavez I thinks its unfair to say the result would not have been the same for Loduca. A sweep tag also would have gotten the runner there. Nice easy 2nd inning for Martinez :)

The Big O Jun 11 2006 07:20 PM |
BBTN leads off with in-progress Mets game (okay, maybe it's a Grimsley discussion). Krukker goes out of his way to say he likes how the Mets get contributions from role players (Endy). And how Castro can block the plate and handle the short hop "like most guys can't". And how this is all an example of how "good teams put the division away". Harold gives Ravvy the bizness, it seems, for being a big DW fan.

Zvon Jun 11 2006 07:28 PM |

lol These D'backs have to be feeling shellshocked. I almost hope the Snakes do make the playoffs. If the Mets get in (just talking in anti jinx logic when I say if) all the games will seem like home games. Cripes, they even hit better out there.

With three walks yesterday, Reyes is one behind his total for allof last year. And, although he has only started 25 games, Chavez has 7 outfield assists, placing him third in the NL. And, we seem to have our own Dale Murphy or Craig Biggio - a player who moved from catcher to centerfield. He made a nice running catch in the right-center gap. Later

This is really scary. When the Mets were looking to sweep the Phils at home a few weeks ago, I wanted to start an IGT making a Cobra Kai reference. I was looking for a good picture of Kreese yelling and caption it "Phinish him!" I couldn't find a pic though. And hence, I didn't start the IGT.
