If the team could just get back to hitting on Pedro's days, they could fly out of here in great position.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincerest apologies to the Baseball Gods and SBS for my inadvertant proclaimation of a Mets sweep in last night's IGT following the Mets win. I was caught up in the moment of the Soler's brilliant shut out and not thinking clearly. My misstep should in no way be interpreted as a prediction of the outcome for today's upcoming game. Please forgive my transgression and accept my sincerest apology.

That should get me and the team off the hook. Now Let's Go Mets!

Reyes starts it off with a walk.

he was really lookin at pitches there.
I love it.

ScarletKnight41

Endy bunts for a single. Runners on the corners with none out.

Zvon
Jun 11 2006 04:47 PM

Reyes steals and Chavez follows with a awsum bunt---beats it for a single.

1st and 3rd for beltran.

Edgy DC

Reyes scores and there are still no out.

Love to know how many D-Back fans actually know why Todd Pratt should be forever known to them as Todd F'N Pratt.

Heard that one time he was introduced (not sure if this was 2000 or not) and all he got was the general "yeah you play for our opponents today" boo that opponents always get rather than the rancor an Aaron Boone, Bucky Dent, Mookie Wilson, ect, ect, ect get

I think it would be more difficult for Castro to not block the plate, he has a good 5 inches and 50 pounds on LoDuca.

LoDuke tends to get out in front of the plate more,
but with that throw by Chavez I thinks its unfair to say the result would not have been the same for Loduca.
A sweep tag also would have gotten the runner there.

But id rather see him patient like that, running the count and lookin for one pitch, than be over agressive and swingin wild at anything close.

Reyes with his second base on balls for the day.

This is what we need to see from him.
Hes got a decent number of hits and he needs to up that OBP to be the kind of lead off batter he should be.

Cuz he gets to 1st and 2nd is as good as his--like there-

With three walks yesterday, Reyes is one behind his total for allof last year.

And, although he has only started 25 games, Chavez has 7 outfield assists, placing him third in the NL.

And, we seem to have our own Dale Murphy or Craig Biggio - a player who moved from catcher to centerfield. He made a nice running catch in the right-center gap.

]The Mets stole three bases Sunday, drew 10 walks and rapped 15 hits, 8 for extra bases, but not one was a home run.

This is what I like. This team is not reliant on the long ball, which so many slugging teams can be.

This is really scary. When the Mets were looking to sweep the Phils at home a few weeks ago, I wanted to start an IGT making a Cobra Kai reference. I was looking for a good picture of Kreese yelling and caption it "Phinish him!" I couldn't find a pic though. And hence, I didn't start the IGT.

I also looked for a pic of the scene where he wipes Johnny's blood away so I could caption it "Sweep the Phils. Do you have a problem with that Mr. Lawrence?" Couldn't find one of those either.

We had a Karate Kid-themed IGT two years ago.

Either that, or they just came back from a Kim Bassinger film festival.

I wish I had thought of that.
