Sanchez and Heilman are not pitching as well as they were earlier in the year. I see two possible reasons for this: 1) They are being overused. 2) They were pitching so well in the beginning of the year that no human being could hope to keep it up the entire season, and are just returning to normal. I think it's #2. I can never figure out what a "normal" workload is for a middle reliever.

Sanchez is being used a lot, but it would have been impossible for his entire season to be like his first four to six weeks were. Heilman's been off and on throughout the year, I think. In other words, he's been human. The Mets don't have a perfect pen, but it ain't bad.

I think it's the second option listed above. But to put the "overuse" theory to bed, it would be nice if someone else (Bradford, Bell) could be counted on to get important seventh and eighth inning outs.

I give Willie some credit for the game where Bradford got the save. Not a lot of credit, because if an average person like myself realized that the big three needed rest then Willie should have known it too. Actually even less credit because he has Peterson to help him. Forget it, I give him no credit. That was an obvious move. Managers should not be given credit for doing the obvious.

Sanchez in on pace for over 100 innings this season, that's crazy, Heilman is on pace for over 80..

I'd like to see Pedro Feliciano more, and in some full-inning situations. If we've got Bell as a long man, using Feliciano as more than a situational guy is fine, given the presence of Oliver.
