Does anyone care? There's one horror movie that is taking advantage of the date by making it Opening Night.

Well I plan on running around doing all kinds of evil stuff in service of satan ... but I do that on most Tuesdays anyway.

There's a town in Michigan called Hell that's having a festival to celebrate the day.

I would guess that each instance of 6/6/06 has been horrifically evil. Here is the lone Wikipedia entry for the last time this fateful day happened:

When we lived in Boston, D-Dad and I got a safe deposit box at our bank (it's the bank that's behind left field in Fenway - it used to be a Shawmut Bank, but it has since changed hands). We were assigned box 666. I was unfamiliar with the demonic lore surrounding the number, and I was just happy to have one that I could memorize easily. The girl who assigned us the box, obviously more into this stuff than we were, just snickered.

I actually don't know the lore behind it either, I just know that 666 is considered evil by some. Just bored. What are you going to do on 6/7/06, FK?

Doesn't the Bible say that the number of the beast is 666?
|
KC Jun 05 2006 02:42 PM |
Yes, it's from the bible ....

This was June 6th 1906, right? I could be confusing my ships but didn't it sink (courtesy of a German torpedo) less than 10 years later?
|
sharpie Jun 05 2006 04:41 PM |
|
Yes and yes. Except it wasn't no German torpedo. It was Satan.

I thought that story was going to be repeated 666 times. Or is it 616?

Rule number one: nobody's as clever as they think they are. Therefore, if you ever really need to know somebody's briefcase code, or ATM code --- particluarly a man's --- there's probably a 10% chance that it's 666 (or 0666 for the ATM).

A superstitious mother asked her doctor to perform a c-section so her child would be born on 6/5/06 and not 6/6/06. The doctor refused. The child was born today at 6:06 and weighed 6 pounds, 6 ounces.

This whole thing was stupid. The date was June 6, 2006. You have to use short hand for the month and drop 2000 years off the year to wrangle it into the ridiculous numerology. Stupidity like this makes me cranky.
