I've been reading about him, interesting story, he had a fine season for ND last season.

I was surprised when they quoted that NCAA rule. But I guess it makes sense.

Though, to make an analogy: Would a NCAA basketball player be allowed to play pro baseball? Not that a person would possibly be able to do both, but...

Yes. I'm sure there are other examples, but Danny Ainge had several seasons of minor-league baseball under his belt by the time he had won the Wooden Award at Bringham Young.
