I Am One Proud Grandpa

Mydaughter just told me that my two year old grandson took the Mets shirt off his Elmo doll and tried to put it on himself. Of course it was too small. But that shows my daughter is bringing him up right.

Raise them right when their young and they'll usually follow the proper path as adults. Great job with the grandson. You have reason to be proud.

Nice. Although with both of you currently Craig Swans, it looked like you responded to your own post, which was weird.

The kids today - they don't say Papa. They don't say Mama. They say Metsy! Metsy!

Playing catch with my not quite-six-year-old grandson today...he can burn it! I was wearing a catcher's mitt, and it still stung.

Down visiting my daughter in Washington, so I'm full of proud grandpa stories.

My oldest grandson, Matt -- he's 14, and the star of his school baseball team -- well, star isn't quite the word. He's the one really outstanding player on a pretty bad team. But his coach told his mom that Matt never gets angry or frustrated with his teammates -- he always encourages them, gives them help and pointers when it's appropriate. The coach told her he'd never seen a kid like Matt in his 35 years of coaching.

MF - Grandkids just get better and better. They are life's greatest blessing. Even though none of them are Mets fans (Red Sox and Nationals).

Are you saying you're not so proud? :)

Then it is your grandfatherly duty to turn them from the dark side.
