Perhaps silver was inspired by Edgy. Or perhaps this guy was too much of an ass for Yankee fans, which you would think would be impossible.

Less than a day? When I hear that it's hard to blame the admins.

Sounds like here's a chance to take a poor discouraged Yankee fan and turn him(her) from the dark side.

I just saw this now. We have zero tolerance for users who insult their fellow users in vile ways.

Some feel our community standards are too strict because we don't allow player bashing, trolling, insults directed towards other posters, racist or homophobic language, etc... but we feel that certain things bring down the quality of the discussion and scare people off from posting. When the forum first started it was easy to manage the community because it was small and everyone knew each other. But as the forum grew larger and larger we were faced with more and more complex situations - and a lot of ugly situations too. The community standards reflect some of those things.

It's not easy to manage very active forums, but we do our best to run the forums in the way that we feel is best for the community, even if those decisions don't always make us popular with everyone.

Anyone who invest the time and money to run a website has every right, in my opinion, to set the rules and guidelines by which that site will be regulated. Users have the choice to either comply with the rules or suffer the consequences for their failure to do so. I may not always agree with the policies of a given site, but I try to respect the rules as best I can. If I find the rules too restrictive, then I simply move on. If I was to disregard the rules of a forum or website, then I should fully expect to be called on it by the administrators.

I hate to see people banned, but some people simply refuse to change in order to conform to the rules set fiorth for the site or just seem to enjoy pushing the limits to see what happens. In such cases, I can't fault the administrators for taking action.

silver i certaintly didnt mean to rip you, i just thought this was a great example to shut up anyone who thinks sal's banning went overboard, because most boards would have banned him years ago and probably given guys like me (and others) at least a temporary suspension once by now

No problem. I just didn't want anyone to think that we ban people on a whim. Some do have that impression (usually those who are banned) but banning is a last resort when someone is a repeat offender or violates the rules so blatantly, such as in this case.
