Torrential rains forced the cancellation of the series opener against the Giants. So on Saturday, the Shea faithful got to enjoy an old fashioned doubleheader. Though, they likely didn’t enjoy the weather or the outcome of the first game all that much. Orlando Hernandez was ineffective in his second start as a Met, as the team continues to search for consistency from the starters after Martinez and Glavine. Giants catcher, Eliezer Alfonzo making his major league debut hit a 2-run home run home run that was the difference in the game.
Even though the Mets lost, it’s hard to beat a doubleheader at Shea. So raise bottle of Dos Equis Special Lager in honor of our POTG.
