It's the return of the WWE thread but now insted of TNA, which has lost almost all it's marketing, writing and superstar staff, it is almost out of business. WWE recently released a third brand. RAW ratings are still sky high, while Smackdown goes further and firther into the dark. WWE Chairman Vince McMahon recently opened up an old brand for return, ECW. As you may or may not know, ECW was started around 1991 and ended in 2001 due to Legal Issues. Now ECW is back and the same old thhings are going to heppen. ECW Represetntative said "Were gonna be the ECW of old, were still doing Flaming Tables, Barbwire, and all out insanity. In ECW the matches have no rules. At any minute you can use a weapon and not get disqualifed. Some old ECW wrestlers were resigned and added to the roster again. Paul Heyman was allowed two draftees, one from RAW one from Smackdown. From RAW he took long time ECW wrestler, Rob Van Dam and from Smackdown he chose Kurt Angle. Some other superstars have made the jump to ECW including Steven Richards, the Big Show and Nunzio. So let's kick off the WWE/ECW thread and give it a run of a lifetime.

P.S: You can still do your pidgeon updates

WWE Monday Night RAW Report
Penn State University
USA Channel

The Beginning

Monday Night RAW opened with a bang as Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross welcomed us to Monday Night RAW from Penn State University. Jerry Lawler continued to bicker about his quick loss to Tazz at ECW One Night Stand and ripped on Joey Styles. The first match of the evening began shortly after...

Match #1: Kane vs. Randy Orton

The match began with The Legend Killer making his way from the back. He got a good reaction from the crowd and got some bad pops about One Night Stand, the crowd chanted "You Tapped Out!" at him. Then Kane's music hit and the crowd was pretty much silent. I don't know if they were stunned by the blast, in awe of Kane or they just resented him. The match began and Kane was normal, Randy Orton went for a quick RKO but was knocked off by Kane. Kane nailed a chokeslam and followed Randy to the outside, the referee's count got to ten and both men were counted out, the match was a draw. Kane and Randy still faught, Randy tried to fight back, but was tossed onto the steel entrance ramp. Then masked Kane attacked Kane and he was sent to the sound stage on the floor. Show goes to commercial.

Winner: DRAW (Double Count Out)

Match #2: Candice Michelle vs. Torrie Wilson (Wet and Wild Water Match)

The first ever Wet and Wild water match started and got big pops from the male fans in the arena. Torrie and Candice led a good fight. In the ring there were water baloons, water guns and big buckets of water. Candice Michelle used a lot of water baloons and Torrie's weapon of choice seemed to be the bucket of water. Finally, Torrie hit a Faceplant and got the three count. More whining from Jerry Lawler.

Winner: TORRIE WILSON

Match #3: Spirit Squad vs. Triple H (5 on 1 Handicap Gauntlet Match)

To teach Triple H that lesson, Mr. McMahon put The Game in a 5-on-1 Gauntlet Match against the entire Spirit Squad. The match started as a one-on-one match, but at Mr. McMahon’s call, another Squad member joined the match. Triple H held his own for a while, but when it became four on one, the Squad started to dismantle the King of Kings, just as The Chairman had wanted. Mr. McMahon instructed the Squad to place a chair around Triple H’s neck so they could injury him, much like they did with HBK’s knee. But when Mr. McMahon called for the fifth member of the squad, Mitch was thrown across the stage.

The Chairman looked on in bewilderment, but that feeling soon turned into rage as Shawn Michaels, who was thought to be out with a knee injury, came to Triple H’s aid. HBK and Triple H cleaned house of the Spirit Squad and punctuated it with Sweet Chin Music on Kenny and a Pedigree on Johnny. And then, for the icing on the cake, a reunited HBK and Triple H delivered a series of double crotch chops to the Chairman. Then Triple H added insult to injury when he pulled down his trunks and mooned Mr. McMahon. The rebel group that first terrorized any and all authority figures durring the Attitude era was back – D-Generation X was reunited.

Incensed at what occurred, Mr. McMahon, who was backstage with the Spirit Squad, declared that at Vengeance, the entire Squad would face Shawn Michaels and Triple H in a 5-on-2 Handicap Match, and DX would be gone once and for all. DX has never let anyone in a position of authority get the best of them before, but will this be a different story?

Winner: NO CONTEST (No Referee was in match)

Match #4: Umaga (w/ Alejandro) vs. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan (w/ Eugene)

One week after being blindsided by the Samoan Bulldozer, WWE Legend Hacksaw Jim Duggan had a one-on-one match against the undefeated Umaga. The brave Hacksaw was no match for the seemingly unstoppable Umaga. The Samoan Bulldozer even took Duggan’s trademark 2 x 4 and broke it over his head, showing no ill-effects. After the match, Umaga tied Eugene up in the ropes and made him watch his tutor, Hacksaw, endure even more punishment.

Winner: UMAGA

Match #5: Johnny Nitro (w/Melina) vs. Carlito

Carlito went one on one against Nitro, and Benjamin was on hand to provide guest commentary. Benjamin said that it takes two men to even compete with him. The comment is interesting considering that Carlito recently defeated the Champion in a non-title match, but Benjamin blamed that on getting dust in his eye. Regardless, Benjamin interjected himself in the match on RAW and prevented Nitro from falling victim to the Back Cracker, helping him get the win. But Benjamin will have to be careful at Vengeance, because if Nitro can pin Carlito again, or vice versa, the Champion can lose the gold without even being involved in the decision.

Winner: JOHNNY NITRO

Main Event: John Cena vs. Edge

As soon as he hit the ring, however, Cena turned into a tornado of lefts and rights, backing Edge into a corner. Lita tried to break things up, but it only seemed to anger Cena more. Edge ran away through the crowd, but not everyone was safe. Stevie Richards, Balls Mahoney and Justin Credible of ECW were ringside to cheer on Edge, and they had nowhere to run. Cena pulled them out of their front row seats and over the guard rail and started swinging a steel chair like a man possessed. Taking a page out of his ECW enemies, Cena left all three members of the new brand laying motionless after the maniacal onslaught. Perhaps Cena put it best when he addressed the crowd after his own personal demolition derby.

Winner: EDGE (Disqualification)

Biggest Pops:
1. Shawn Michaels
2. Triple H
3. Randy Orton
4. D-Generation X
5. Ric Flair

RAW Superstar of the Week:
Shawn Michaels

Most Annoying Superstar/Staff Member:
The entire Spirit Squad

Seriously, wouldn't this be considered trolling?

Not trying to single out PiazzaFan. But I'm trying to get a handle on what a troll is. Is it someone that shows up once in a while to post stuff that no one else has any interest in, and contributes nothing else to the forum?

Yancy Street Gang
Jun 15 2006 02:55 PM

I think a troll would be someone who's deliberately trying to antagonize people, and I don't think PiazzaFan falls into that category.

To me, it seems like he's found a primitive way to blog. We let him post anything here, and he posts this stuff. He doesn't care that we don't care, and we don't care that he posts this stuff.

You'd think he'd find a wrestling forum that would appreciate his posts, but that doesn't seem to have occurred to him. Or maybe he posts the same stuff on dozens of different forums.

Personally, I couldn't possibly care less about wrestling, but I don't have a problem with PiazzaFan 411 posting a thread of wrestling results. PF411 has always been considerate enough to keep all of his updates within the same thread so not to clutter up the entire board with repetitive threads, so I have no problem with him posting the results as he has. I don't know, maybe others enjoy them. So I think he should continue to post the wrestling reults if it makes him happy and I hope to see his input in the baseball threads.

At the end of the day, I don't really care....but....

Shouldn't you post a blog on your own personal web site?

Again, you are just one dude, but suppose someone tomorrow started posting a blog on kittens. And another guy does one on politics. And another guy starts one on Marxism. etc. etc. etc.

And is it really a blog if all you do is cut and paste match results? Just post the link where you're getting your info at the top of the thread and you never have to post again.

I agree with all of these points, but you haven't addressed my point. Is this a forum for personal blogs? If this thread is more than a blog, then fine, I withdraw my objection. (Actually I don't have much of an objection, like I said. It's more of a hypothetical argument.)

To be fair, I've seen plenty of boards, even wrestling boards (where sports and other forms of entertainment are discussed), where peeps tend to post primarily in folders other than the main topic of said board, doesn't bother me if someone spends most of their time here in NBF, or even in the Film Review forum, with an every couple of month or so post up in the main baseball forum

It's a forum for discussion of non-baseball stuff.

Elster88
Jun 18 2006 01:52 AM

And what is the difference between a discussion and a personal blog?

It's a discussion when more than one person is talking. Otherwise it's a blog.

Again, at this point I'm only pressing this matter as a hypothetical.

SteveJRogers
Jun 18 2006 09:26 AM

In an effort to get more wrestling talk on the NBF, I'll offer this as a "inbetween" events for PiazzaFan to talk about:

-Whats your favorite era:

Mine would be the Monday Night Wars, you finally had the WWF and WCW getting rid of the schackles of being considered entertainment for pre-teens, while still marketing for the younger set with action figures and what not, their target demo finally zeroed in on the late-teen to early-20 department that is generally considered the true wrestling fan base. Would you show classic ECW or Smokey Mountain Wrestling shows to pre-teens?

Thats also when the lines really started being blurred, the WWF at this point admitted that A) matches were predetermined, somewhat and B) Vincent K. McMahon was indeed the man behind the curtain (on the programs his character just a broadcaster, in the Attitude era he made his real life personae and job into the character)

The whole wrestling scene lost alot when ECW went under and WCW was bought by WWF. No real competition, and the stench of the XFL really soured Vince into thinking that a "New" WCW would be a successfull venture. I'm not sure if ECW will turn out the way Vince hoped WCW would, it's clearly on a smaller scale, and in 2001 the WWF had much, much more mainstream expourse than it does now.

Also Austin got old, and The Rock went to be a full time actor, you don't lose two big guys like that and expect the causal fan to still watch every week, especially when the actual content of the shows gets more and more pathetic with each passing week (necrophelia angle, wrestleers being pushed to the top for no real good reason, ect)

The WWF/WCW didn't really get rid of any such shackles. What happened was all of those pre-teens and teens reached adulthood and continued watching. I was not one of them, so much, but a few of my buddies were for a short while. Pro wrestling sucks now.

They then stripped their top off, revealing a black Bra with D-X written on it. The crowd went wild. The the real Spirit Squad with his anti-D-X group and I was amazed that Rob Conway of all people was anti-D-X. WTF! D-X took out two Spirit Squad guys and told the rest of the squad to leave. The 5 midgets then mooned the Spirit Squad with Suck It written on their asses. This was a shoe in for one of the funniest episodes of RAW ever.

ECW on SciFi Report 6/20
Live from the Pepsi Center in Albany, New York

Intro Segment:
The show opened up with a tarot lady using her cards. She used her cards, obviously set up, to tell about RAW and tonights ECW. We then go to the title song and we get to our first match.

Match #1:
Singles Match
Sabu vs. Tony Mamaluke (w/Trinity)

This was a very good match from the starts. Sabue makes good use of the chair and does a lot of exciting High Flying moves. He even puts Tony through a table, and then countered with chairs and did a Triple Jump Plancha, so cool. He picks up the win after locking in the Camel Clutch.

Winner: SABU

-Segment-
After the commercial, the Big Show makes his entrance and looks mad and ready to speak his mind until Tommy Dreamer comes out and looks angry as well. He made comments about last week being tossed through a table and made comments that if he wanted to make a name in ECW he would have to go through him. Fighting ensued and the Big Show took immediate control. The Big Show spanked Tommy Dreamer like a Four Year Old in KMART before leaving a wounded Dreamer pissed and ready for more.

Match #2:
Singles Match
Macho Libre vs. The Sandman

Macho Libre came out and started saying everything twice. He was very annoying and made fun of ECW for being what they are and challenged anyone from ECW for a fight. Once again, The Sandman comes down to the ring to take on this retarded character and cans the hell out of him and hits the White Russian Leg Sweep for a quick win. Why does Sandman get all the retards?

Winner: The Sandman

-Segment-
Cena walks in on the ECW guys having a chat about beating the crap out of him in the parking lot. Cena then comes in and challenges ECW as a whole. He wants Sabu and himself to have an Extreme Rules Lumberjack Match, with the Lumberjacks being the ECW roster. To me, Cena is signing his own deathwish

Only two words could describe this, VERY HOT!. Unfortunately, I missed the end because my parents walked in. So if you can tell me that would be cool but by the time your reading this I probably saw the internet video.

Main Event:
Interpromotional Tag Team Match (ECW vs. RAW)
Edge and Randy Orton vs. Rob Van Dam and Kurt Angle

Edge made comments about how ECW sucks. Angle and Edge start the match. Angle takes quick control over Edge delivering good moves. RVD is also impressive and does a lot of exciting moves. Edge takes control after being tagged in by Orton. -Show goes to commercial- Orton is tagged and keeps control. RVD takes a very hard fall to the outside. A very back and forth match. Angle and Orton get tagged and they fight. Angle takes control over team until Lita comes in and Edge capatalizes. RVD takes control after being tagged in. This was a very good match and a definite match of the year candidate. RVD nails a 5 Star Frog Splash for the win.

This lineup has now been posted three times. Do you make a profit on the PPV sales?

Elster, I post the lineup everytime there is a change in the card. No, I don't profit from the PPV but I wish I did, I'd be rich. I hope that answers your question.

Next question for PiazzaFan:

Have you celebrated your 14th birthday yet?

Yes. 2 months ago, why?

I was wondering if your actual age was in alignment with the age that you seem to be. I'm happy to know that it is.

If you told me it was 8 years ago I'd be concerned.

So go on and enjoy being 14! It'll only last another ten months or so.

Thanks. I've been a WWE fan since I was 5 and an ECW fan since I was 8. I have an extensive history.
