No - she meant to wish us a Happy Father's Day in true Kinerian fashion :-)

PostSecret is all about fathers today. Some happy, some sad, all of them moving.

My stepdaughter wanted to buy me a family Mets outing as a Father's Day present, which would have been wonderful -- but too much travel, and the grandkids really aren't baseball fans. So I suggested a Renegades outing instead -- a short drive, and minor league baseball is so family-friendly. So we're doing 4th of July -- the Cyclones, and fireworks.

Someone explain this one to me.

One of Ralph's famous Kinerisms. One year on father's day, Ralph says, "With today being Father's Day, happy birthday to all you fathers out there".

Gotta love Ralph.

Iubutul is correct - I was going for homage to Ralph while wishing the Crane Pool dads a Happy Father's Day.

Sure Irish - send the kids off crying that they got their dad a sucky gift....

;)

D-Dad was amused by it - I'm sure he's not going to treat it as gospel, though :)

He does love it, although he's guessing that those who gave it to him are also going to get some use out of it <g>

I thought my post would prompt lists of other funny, CPF-relevant sports arguments. Guess not.

Thank you Scarlet.

My dad got a Nike hat identical to the one his grandson wears. He got a few other things too, but wearing the same hat as his grandson was the thing that gave him the biggest thrill.

As for me, I took my son to the park and he rode the swings for the first time. Watching his face go from trepidation, to terror, to uncomfortable acceptance, to joy was my best present.

Lenny and his sister made Eggs Benedict for breakfast. Later, went to a party for the team that Lenny was on that I coached. Played wiffleball and hit what was the tie-breaking run except my side gave it up in the bottom of the third (it was a 3-inning game).
