Neither the Phillies or the weather could stop the Mets in route to their seventh straight victory during this road trip. The Mets continued their recent trend of scoring early and often. The Mets have scored in the first inning in each of the last seven games. Orlando Hernandez didn't appear sharp in this game, but the Mets provided him with seven runs in the first 4 innings. The rain moved in and halted the game for just over an hour, but the Mets simply picked up where they had left off. In celebration of another fine team victory, bust open a case of Nittany Ale and be sure to pass them around so everybody gets one. This ones for you, cooby.
