Did it win the Trophy for you?

excellent sports movie.
Hackman is, as usual, terrific and Hopper is unexpectedly great, as well.

Very good. But not as great as I'd been lead to believe by many.

My thoughts exactly.
I saw it once a long time ago so I probably should give it another look one of these days -- but I just don't remember it in the glowing 'among-the-best-ever' tones that many people use.

More the invocation of the look, style, and pacing than anything special in the script.

I like your linked gallery.
The Kent Falls pic brought back nice memories.

Saw Hoosiers as a sneak preview before it was released to the general public.

There were no expectations so as a result it just blew my socks off.

That's always cool. One of my teachers at college, a Christian Brother not easily manipulated, caught Field of Dreams, as a sneak preview, without any expectations, and came back drooling.

I loved it, growing up in Ireland and not knowing anything about basketball over here it still struck a cord,it was that kind of movie, plus it was small town America which was not something we would see in Ireland a lot.
