Well done, Duaner. Well done indeed. The DP to end the sixth was an easy one. Close the book on Trachsel with 6 IP, 2 ER. The problem is that I'm happy with that. And I should not be happy with a starter going 6.

Updates from a slow computer. Mets pound David Weathers in the 7th for cusion. Nady hit a 2-run KABOOM-er/ X marks the spot Milledge singled, Duaner got donked, and LoDuca sent them both home with a double. 8-2, Metropolitans of New York lead after 7 innings. Heilman in to test those mechanics.

Wow. Nady with a second home run after Valentin hit a triple (he tried for an inside-the-parker but got thrown out at home).

This did look like a good one. Watchin the hi-lites now on ESPN--Trax went yard-lol-awsum. WOW-the ESPN guy called it a KaBOOM! That throw by Lastings-Beautiful. Delgado goes down to get that off speed and puts it in orbit. Nady hits two into the night. LoDuke with three ribs. Nice line by Trachsel. Phils lose even tho Howard was a one man wrecking crew. Good night.

Was finally at Shea for the first time this year! Milledge seemed to have a tough time judging flyballs -- the sliding catch, the Freel broken bat, etc. Sure didn't look like he was getting a good read on anything. Trachsel's homer was smoked. Seemed like it was still rising when it entered the seats. 3-2, he looked for the fastball and swung as hard as he could. Crowd tried to give the curtain call but Reyes got up there real fast and swung at the first pitch (flying out to center),

It's nice to have a game that's a laugher at the end, but this one was a lot tighter then it looked. Please reward Sanchez with Schaefer.

I didn't know this story. I knew Gooden got to the eighth with the no-no, but didn't know about the home run.

I'm not quite sure what's being implied there. Did he overplay his celebration? Did he lose his focus on the mound? Any Waybackers able to find the June 6 game story?

In contrast to the always-under-control Steve Trachsel who claims he was telling himself to calm down and not to take that feeling to the mound with him by the time he was rounding 2nd base on his trot.
